    got a new xbox one and am having a couple of issues.

    1. it seems when i put in a new game it installs which takes an age. does it have to install ???

    2. my biggest problem is sometimes (everyday so far ) it won't start when i try to turn it on via a controller. It doesn't do it everytime but it does do it everyday. I have to disconnect the mains power to reset it then everything is ok.

    does anyone have any ideas, because I will end up getting santa to give me a new one if not resolved.

    Hi,

    What Country/State/Province do you live in? Scotland

    Modem brand & model number: Virgin Media (Ambit E080C013.00)

    Router brand & model number: D-Link DIR 615

    Wired or wireless: wired

    Things you have tried:

    Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown - YES

    Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type? OPEN

    Any Error Codes you encounter: See below for errors, no codes

    Who is your ISP?(Internet Service Provider): Virgin Media


    Up until early this week my Xbox One was functioning perfectly, however now i am suffering from various issues which i cannot seem to resolve :

    Friends List - Most of the time when i try and view this i get the "We are unable to show your friends at the moment" message. If i flick between the "all", "favorites" etc the friends appear intermittently, but most of the time it is unable to show anything.
    Nothing like this happened before.

    Store Items - When i try and view anything in the store it takes me a few attempts before it loads, most of the time it says the content is not available at this time. This never used to happen.

    Battlefield 4 - When i load this up most of the time it tells me I need a gold account to play, despite me having one for 8 years. (it just renewed the other day). Sometimes it works ok, other times i lose connection with the EA servers, but after a few
    attempts it usually reconnects. Before this week the game worked perfectly.

    Titanfall - This tells me to "check multiplayer permissions" when i try and log in, which it never done before. If i keep trying i usually get in after a few attempts. Before this week this never happened once since i got the game.

    Fifa - This is the only game which seems to work as it did before

    I have not changed any network / console settings, all i done was go away for a few weeks and come back to this. The only thing that has changed recently is the fact my gold membership renewed. Until i deleted my profile and redownloaded it i had a link
    on my home screen to "renew gold" which i thought was strange as it had renewed automatically !

    This is what i have tried thus far to resolve :

    • Reset console to factory defaults
    • Deleted profile and redownloaded it
    • My NAT is open and my console is hard wired to my router, uPNP is on and all ports are opened.
    • I have power cycled the xbox, modem and router numerous times
    • I have tried connecting my xbox direct to my router but this does not work
    • I am connected to xbox live constantly, i am not experiencing disconnections from the service
    I am absolutely stumped as to what is going on here, my internet seems to be functioning fine but intermittently i am getting issues accessing anything through xbox, sometimes it works ok , sometimes it doesnt as above, this is happening within the same
    hour or so of being connected to the service!

    So, first off, basic info, right?

    What Country/State/Province do you live in?: USA / Missouri

    Modem brand & model number: Netgear & unsure

    Router brand & model number: unsure & unsure

    If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter?: N/A I'm wired



    Things you have tried:

    Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown: Unknown

    Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT?:
    No Errors


    Any Error Codes you encounter: None

    Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)?:
    Timewarner Cable

    Furthermore, I took a few more screenshots of what's seen when my Gamertag is logged into...

    The gamerscore shows up in the upper right, but not on the dashboard itself, then after a few seconds...

    I lose that too. I also lose my theme, my friends, and my capability to even be online. it just disconnects completely.

    My console loses it's ability to check my memory units, hard drive, and cloud storage too. it's just a blank screen. The green select button in the bottom left

    just comes and goes every other second or so. Pressing it does nothing...

    It's been this way for an hour or so now. What's wrong with it?

    There is one other Gamertag on the Xbox, and it has absolutely no problems with anything at all, and it has no issues at all. works flawlessly.

    Oh yeah, and the game we were playing when it happened was Fable 3, if that helps or means anything. Please help me.

    The reason that your installs are taking a long time is because you are installing them through your network. Try going into settings and disconnecting your network while the download is paused, then restart your console by holding down the power button.
    When you resume the i stall, it should go a lot faster because you are installing directly from the disc, and not over the Internet.

    Second what Chips said about installing off-network. As to the controller, have you made sure to go into Settings and update your controller? There is a firmware update which fixes several little bugs and quirks with the controller, which happened back before
    they started releasing controller updates.

    Hey there Tizoc! I understand you are having some issues with your profile and storage devices. Let's start with the storage devices, as this seems to be the most pressing issue. First, what model console do you have? Is it an older one, or the newer S?
    Does it have the 4gb of internal memory?

    Just to clarify, if you log in to your other GT you can see Gamerscore, themes, friends, and storage devices, correct? What do you see in the Storage Device menu if you don't log in? If literally everything works, try downloading your main profile again from
    the main Dashboard menu and see if that helps. Don't worry about deleting your profile just yet. Let us know if that helps, thanks!
