Van Helsing Activate the Ancient Inkgate

I am at the point in the game where you must activate the ancient inkgate, however, every time I go to the area for this...this boss does not spawn. I am unable to progress through the game and starting a new character did not fix this. This issue was on
Steam two years ago, but there is no fix for the Xbox One. Any suggestions?

I'm playing Diablo 3 vanilla as I am making this post and while I haven't played that Van Helsing game (it is similar to Diablo 3), this glitch sounds like it is a " trigger event failure ".

..........

Something similar happend to me (" trigger event failure ") in Alien Isolation where the mission giver is supposed to lock the door in front of me.

Instead, it never happend and the story progression just stopped here.

Fortunately, I simply re-did the mission and everything was fine

..........

Maybe re-starting the Act / Chapter would correct the error and make the " trigger effect " happend so that the story line can continue?

I also encountered a problem on Diablo 3 vanilla in Act 4 where the barrier that the boss placed up didn't open after he died.

Again, simply re-starting the Act / chapter fixed it
