    Validating Xbox Live Ports using Xbox One?


    The documentation for "Network ports used by Xbox Live on Xbox One" ( see: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/connect-network/network-ports-used-xbox-live ) does not clearly state which test on the xbox one settings should be used to confirm these ports are "open".

    What test is required to resolve this issue? What does the test say on when everything is working correctly? What Are the possible error messages?

    Also as a note, The only reason I am asking is that a AAA Game developer support staff is telling me to make sure these ports are open, and my xbox is not registering any errors.

    I would follow the recommendations of the referenced note for ports to open: support.xbox.com/.../network-ports-used-xbox-live (the one you linked).
    There may be instances where port 80 is used by developers to host games or do asynchronous updates of http traffic in / out and DNS may be open as part of the Xbox one doing SRV records or something creative to host games as well, i'm not sure.

    You could definitely open up a few X1's on your network and run wireshark to validate setups. I run a SonicWall TZ205 myself and simply followed this guide to a T to get my X1 to play online.
