    Valid Prepaid 12 month code not working


    I bought a 12 month prepaid code like I have done many times before (12 year xbox live Gold veteran). I tried to apply this to my account, it recognized it as a valid code and asked me to do auto renewal for a free month. I accepted and hit continue. It
    then said "try again later. There is a problem on our end. Trying in a bit might help". This was via the console and the website. This was a month and a half before my subscription expired. Contacted support and they said because the sub was on an expired
    card I'd have to wait until the sub expired before I could enter the code. Fast forward today, when the sub expired and I tried to enter it and got the same error. Contacted support again and they had to elevate the issue. Seems like it might be some kind
    of account issue? The also asked me to post it here too. If anyone has experienced this let me know!

    I'm sorry to hear about your purchase issue. Live can be purchased with Live gift cards (1, 3, 6, 12 month).

    It's just that currency cards are not, and have never been, a valid payment option for subscriptions.

    Microsoft no longer sells 12 month subscriptions. You may be able to find a 12 month as a prepaid code in a retailer.
