    Using Xbox w/o switching on TV


    Hi,

    Xbox would be a nice hardware to demonstrate MSFT Conversation-as-a-platform, please refer to //build/ for details on that platform. Although one can speak to Cortana, it is quite an energy drain because user need to power on their TV, please do correct
    me if that is not the scenario.

    Amazon <Echo> is in the same living room as Xbox and users can interact with it more as compare to Cortana.

    I feel it would be good, if Xbox allows all Windows 10 speakers to work with it. So that user can speak and get feedback from Cortana. without the TV, so as to operate at a much energy efficient mode.

    Xbox One Passthrough work when off?

    According to what kind of cable box you have. Most have multiple output ports in the back. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but if I use one of the ports to go to my XOne and the other out port on my cable box to go to my TV...could I not just switch sources
    on my tv and watch tv w/o the XOne being on?

    The gamertag, F L o W can be used as Flow as well, making F L o w unavailable. It can also be used on Zune, making it not able to search on Xbox Live.

    Ty for your response. My Nintendo wii, switch, and work laptop are on the same at&t network w no issues. Only the Xbox gamepass is malfunctioning. I use a profile on a separate Samsung TV gamepass app using Google fiber. My son is using a different TV w our Xbox console using at&t fiber which is better quality. Is it his restriction settings or his gamepass account?

    How I feel I spent my 500 bucks.

    Problem @Merlin, most HDMI splitters are 1 out, 2 in. You need 2 out, 1 in. I have an HDMI running from the 2nd port of my TV, & another from the in port of my One. When I'm using the One, I plug that HDMI to my cable box, then switch it after I'm done so
    the wife can watch w/o the One on.
