    Using Xbox One with Dell S2309W


    When the TV is occupied I'd like to switch over to the PC monitor, a Dell S2309W with VGA and DVI inputs. I was wondering if anyone had tried an Xbox One using HDMI-DVI adapters and if they'd had any success. Sound wouldn't be an issue, I run all the sound
    through my Sennheiser's from the controller...it's just getting another display for when the TV is occupied.

    Thanks very much for this. It turns out I've inherited an original console, so I should be fine judging from the links that you sent me. I might have to get my thinking cap on to make the most of sound, but that also looks eminently solvable.

    Connecting an XBox 360 to a Dell S2309W monitor

    Hi everyone.

    I've just inherited my younger brother's XBox 360 upon his upgrade to XBox One, and am wondering how best to hook it up. I've never owned a console before, and only have my PC's hardware immediately to hand (monitor, speakers, etc.). My screen is a Dell
    S2309W monitor with 1920 x 1080 native resolution. I can see from other threads that it should be possible, but they're old threads and I can't get the links to the hardware they recommend to work. To which end, I'd be grateful for any pointers to (currently
    available) hardware that'll let me hook the XBox up, both video and sound.

    Should work as long as the display supports HDCP. Ive been using my 360 with an hdmi to DVI cable and it works just fine.

    Hi there,

    since the monitor only has a vga (and DVI) input you will need to use a VGA cable. Depending on the Xbox 360 model type (Original or Slim) you can use the steps (and vga cable) shown on this link:

    When using VGA you will need to connect the audio cables to a device that is able to connect to the red/white cables for audio.

    If it is an Xbox 360 E model, then it's a different story, since there are no supported VGA cables as far as I know, see this link:

    Dell Frustrations

    Amazon has Xbox Ones in stock again. I thought Microsoft owns a part of Dell. Why doesn't Dell get stock shipments like this. Can't order one again because I'm waiting on Dell's order. Unbelievable.

    I tried your suggestion, but it didn't help. I reinstalled W10 (for the 17th time in one year) on my Dell Vostro 7500, but this time I left out some Dell applications. So far, all is well and Windows Store is much quicker. AMONG US and Minecraft installed quickly.

    I suspect one of the Dell applications or setup procedures I was given by Dell may have been the problem,

    but time will tell.
