So I purchased the Xbox one remote thinking it would be a easier way of using the Xbox for media purposes like Netflix and such. Instead of having to turn on the controller on all the time. Because the Kinect has IR emitters in it, I bought it presuming
the remote would work pointing it at the Kinect. I was wrong turns out it has too be pointed at the console, which in my case makes thing tougher. My question now is seeing the Xbox one has a IR output on the back of the console. Would purchasing a IR sensor
work for extending the remote signal or is this for if your not using the Kinect and wanting to take advantage of controlling your TV and receiver.

    Thanks much help appreciated.

    :)

    XBox One Remote Range Extender?

    Hello.

We have an XBox one installed into a large AV cabinet with all out other home IT/WiFi/AV stuff...

The AV equipment serves to TVs and the associated surround sound etc.

In one space, the remotes seem to be too far away. The XBox remotes consistently cut out.

Is there some sort of XBox remote repeater or extender?

    Thanks

Can I use Kinect as an IR receiver when using my cable remote?

I have my cable box (and now my xbox one) in an enclosed cabinet underneath my TV (although it is spacious on the inside). Previously, I had an IR receiver sitting right in front of my TV (with the emitter down on my cable box in the cabinet), but I would
love to do away with that now that I have the Kinect sitting there. I have my cable box connected via HDMI to my xbox one and that's all working great.. but the only thing I can't do now is control my cable with the remote control (when I need to access my
DVR recordings and such). Would I be able to plug an IR extension cable into the IR Out port on the back of the xbox one and put the emitter on my cable box to make that work? I just need the signal to get from my remote to the cable box.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
