    Using Xbox One Live TV issues with Smart TV


    Hi, I have a Smart TV with in-built DTV which means that I don't need a satellite/cable/external box. However, I can't seem to get my new Xbox One to get Live TV working on my Smart TV because of this.

    Looking through the forums, I can see this is a big issue that's been flagged up for the past year - have you got a solution for how I can fix this please? Obviously a big reason for purchasing the Xbox One is using it as your home entertainment system which
    I currently can't do so may result in me needing to return the console.

    Any help please would be much appreciated!

    Worldwide means outside the US, too - my friend ;-)

    I.e. I really do need to connect a seperate STB to the Xbox one in order to enjoy live tv even if (or although) I am using a smart tv? Does this make any sense? The idea of a smart tv is to live w/o any extra STB's...

    Is there a possibility to directly feed in the tv signal to the Xbox one?

    What about K4meltreiber's input of using the bi-directional LAN cables inside an HDMI cable to control the built in STB?

    In comparison with the PS4 the feature "live tv" of the Xbox one was a strrong argument of the "all in one entertainment system"... I am looking forward to hear about any technical solution. As I own a premium smart tv I won't by a extra STB - sorry!

    I want to enjoy live tv with my xbox one. As I am using a smart tv with integrated digital sat receiver I don't have a separate set top box. How can I enjoy live tv in this configuration? I want to control the tv, the channels and the xbox one in parallel
    by voice command. Is this possible or do I need a separate set top box anyway?

    My target is to use as less boxes and devices as possible. Just xbox one (the all in one entertainment system) + smart tv + 5.1 dolby HiFi receiver for the sound. No extra CD, DVD, BlueRay Player or any set top box.

    If Smart TV or not makes no difference for any devices, these TV's are just here for their own installed apps on the TV.

    You can't begin anything with a Smart TV on Xbox One, so there is no reason getting a Smart TV. Buying an Xbox One and a 32" to 42" TV screen is much cheaper than a single Smart TVs out on the retailers.

    (btw. Who would want to stand so near on a screen and make the screen oiled dirty by touchscreen? That touch is senseless.)

    The wired or wireless connection is handled through your router, not the Samsung Smart TV. Samsung Smart TV has nothing to do with Xbox One. Connect the Xbox One directly to your wireless or wired router, not your Samsung Smart TV.

    I have a smart LG. Smart features I use are Mirracast (For beaming my Kindle screen to the TV) and the Netflix and Amazon Instant apps. Since Xbox One already has those two apps, I'd say that they are somewhat wasted. Smart 3D TV is another matter, but if
    you go Xbox One a regular full HD TV will do nicely.

    Issues connecting Xbox One to LG Smart TV via HDMI

    Turn the Xbox off. Then turn the tv on . Select the hdmi input on your tv, then turn the Xbox One back on. I have a LG smart tv and it was just a simple syncing issue. Hit me up if this doesn't work.
