I recently moved from the US to Germany and took my Xbox One with me. I'm aware that the voltage is much higher in Germany and I just wanted to ask if I need to buy a transformer or if I can just get a german PSU without damaging the console. I just really
want to play my games again :I.

Once a region has the Xbox One released and is Live supported for Xbox One, you can use an Xbox One console from any region in that region. Basically: If you buy a US Xbox One console, once the Xbox One is released in Sweden, you should be able to use your
US console in Sweden without issues. =)

My son had purchased an XBOX 360 in Singapore and the box mentions that the region of use is SING/HK. He had brought the unit to India and was using the same. The Box mentions that the DVD region as 3. Now my son is studying in the USA and wants us to bring
the console for his use in the USA. While we are aware that the Power specifications of the X Box version is 220 V, is there a way to make it work in the US by changing the Power adaptor to 110 V ? Is this compatible power adapter available from Microsoft
or elsewhere in the US ? We want to carry this unit to the US only if it is usable in the USA ? Can someone with knowledge answer this question ?

You should be able to buy an xbox power brick for the console that is appropriate for the power in Germany. Just make sure it is made specifically for the xbox one so your console will not be damaged.

You should never use any type of power converter with your console.They can damage the console & void the warranty.

If you want to use you console in a different country you need to buy the correct power brick for the country you are in.

hey Blooming and Viperous, next time please start a new thread regarding your issue, rather than posting at the end of a somewhat related thread from 3 years ago.

you can buy power converters to use foreign devices in other location. just a quick search gave me a result for a device that actually goes both ways. it will step down from 240/220v to 120/110v, but it also steps up from 120/110 to 240/220. that only
costs about $35 USD after shipping. i'm sure there are other similar items at other prices.

the main point though is that the console is NOT a waste, though you will have to spend a little more to get it working. another option would be to sell the console and buy a new one. it may end up being cheaper that way.

apparently that is correct. i was not familiar with that possibility, but a quick search gave a good explanation as to why you should not use any power converters to use US devices in EU.

Ok, but it is mainly the price difference that concerns me. In Sweden Xbox One will roughly cost me $150-$200 more than in the USA.

You think it will work when Xbox Live is available in Sweden?

Yeah it probably will be an issue as Xbox Live for the Xbox One will not be available in your region until 2014. You would be better off waiting, just so they would be no problems.
