Using Touro S 1tb and games keep restarting

Not sure if this is normal for an external hdd but I think with the internal hdd of the xbox one games did not restart when switching amongst them, but they are restarting after installing this new Touro S1tb, is this normal or do I need to do something?

The problem is lets say i play Fifa16 then I go home and start Madden16 but when I switch back to Fifa16 it restarts all over again and the same happens with madden, its like it doesn't cache the game or use the game with the ram or something.

New external hard drive recognized for media - won't format for games and apps.

I have a HGST Touro S 1TB 7200RPM and am having the same issue. Neither of the suggestions worked

Xbox One external hdd format

Just got a Touro S 1TB usb 3.0 and I can't get my xbox to format it. The xbox will detect it, but just shows it as media storage. I want to format it for games and apps. I'm not seeing any option to format it in settings>manage storage. Am I missing something?

Hi nyjohn14 the way you are describing things in your second paragraph sounds like the normal behavior for the console.

The console only has the ability to have one game opening and running at any one time and it will not cache the second game it will just close the game and when you re open the game it will revert back to the last normal save point made in the game. It is
only the apps that allow you to have a couple of them running at the same time.

I'm having the same issue with the 4tb seagate but I'm also losing sound..i noticed playing Gears of War 4 & Titanfall 2. The background music drops out constantly and the voices also, only the sound effects are constant. my 1tb Touro external never had
any issues.. I'm wondering if its the Seagate hard drive itself not being 7200rpm like the Touro was..

I got the Touro S but my X1 doesn't detect it. Tried on two consoles and no luck. PC reads it fine. ..any suggestions? I'm having the exact same problem with my Touro S. I tried it on two different consoles as well. Anyone found a fix for this yet?

Hi Jiza1981, you can generally buy cheap cables over eBay.

Kotaku did a great post some time ago regarding drives that will work seamlessly with the Xbox One. I've yet to get a hard drive for my Xbox One but I'm almost out of room (Microsoft just love giving me games!

) so it's time to get one I think!

Anyway, without linking anyone to anything external to this website, Kotaku recommended the following external hard drives;

1TB HGST Touro S 7200rpm Portable External Hard Drive

WD My Passport 1TB Portable External Hard Drive Storage USB 3.0 Black

WD My Book 4 TB USB 3.0 Hard Drive with Backup

I've never used that Touro brand so I can't comment on them but I've had good experiences with Western Digital and their external hard drive range. Nice and sturdy units!
