    I was looking at buying Razer Kraken headphones but without the mic. This is because I found that the ModMic 4.0 was much better quality. I'm not even sure if Razer Krakens are compatible with the Xbox One, nor do I know if the ModMic is compatible, but
    I'd really like to use this setup and don't want to buy anything until I know exactly what I need. Thanks!

    Best Xbox One headset?

    I prefer headphones over headsets I think headsets you are overcharged for the mic being attatched. I use a couple different sets of Sennheiser one are over the ear headphones that I use a Turtle Beach amp on and use it when im not chatting and the other is a set of earbuds. I bought a Monster adapter that plugs into the controller with a built in mic and then the headphones plug into it so I have chat and sound with either pair of headphones without having a headset.

    Separate Chat Headphone Audio

    Hi, I really enjoy the XBox One streaming to Windows 10, but have a little issue I was hoping someone knew a solution to.

    I'd like the normal game audio to come through on my PC speakers, but the chat audio to come through on my headset. I'm using the headset that's plugged into my XBox One controller. Is that possible?

    Howdy,

    The Razer Kraken should work fine, do they take the audio in via a mixamp solution to get surround sound? If not using the audio adapter will only give you stereo.

    Also, the mic should work fine, however you can't use both at the same time so you would need to get the game sound from somewhere else (i.e. via a mixamp or perhaps the TV) and plug the chat cable into the audio adapter.

    Although, I'm not sure if you can get a cable to plug both in to a single 3.5mm cable but not sure if this would work. Hope that helps.

    I have some problems with this. Might have to try the above solution. The way i have it set up is Wireless headohones to xbox and a spearate mic to headset adapter via a audio splitter. When u plug in the mic i can't hear any chat sound (other ppl in my
    party talking) only when it's unplugged..

    Suggestions?

    When you plug in via the controller, I believe it redirects the chat audio out via that method which is probably why you are not getting chat sounds, but you mic will probably be working.

    Can you plug the headset in via the controller as well?

    I bought both a standard mic, as a replacement, and a mic adapter, to use with my Beats 2 headphones. Neither are working (standard mic before and after controller update as a result of the mic adapter) on two separate controllers.

    You say mic and sound wires. Do you mean you have 2 separate 3.5 mm plugs for your headset, 1 for mic, and 1 for the stereo headphone speakers?

    If that is the case you may need to get an adapter to combine the channels into 1 3.5 mm plug.
