Using saved profiles from xbox on PC

How can I access saved progress done on my xbox from my PC. I've been playing Darksiders 3 and want to play it on my PC. I have GamePass ultimate and have the game downloaded on both my XBox one and on my PC through xbox (beta) app, however the PC is not
seeing any existing game data and only gives me the option to start a new game. I am logged into the same profile on both devices. I know I can stream from my XBox to the PC but this defeats the purpose of playing on my PC instead of the XBox. I don't want
to use the XBox hardware to run the game, I want my PC hardware to run it. Is there a step I'm missing to force my PC to access cloud saves for my XBox progress to carry over?

Games can be available for both platforms, but not all of them are Play Anywhere. In the store under Capabilities, it'll list Play Anywhere on any game that is one.

So Darksiders 3 is not a play anywhere game? It was downloaded from PlayPass on both devices. How do you know if a game is in this category or not?

Unfortunately, you can't. In order to use the same save on both, games would have to support cross saves which not all games do. Any game that is a Play Anywhere title will allow this, otherwise it varies by game.

With that in mind, if I create / use my Live account from my PC (i.e. create a new profile on my Xbox 360) can I transfer my saved games / XP / etc. across to it?
