Using one guide with It emitter help!

This is a repost because I'm not getting any help in the live TV section.

Hi there, I just received a new Cisco DTA 271HD from Time Warner due to the upcoming switch to digital only. I am able to view the tv through the TV Xbox app, but I am not able to control it with the Xbox controller. So far what i'm thinking
is that this is a brand new DTA and xbox hasn't received the IR codes for it yet.

The reason I say this is because when I tried to manually look up the model, after the "Send Command" thing didn't work, the model didn't come up, the only thing that came up was "DTA170HD" and "DTA50" so do I just need to wait until a new update or am
I doing something wrong. The layout is as follows.

Cable Coax -> Cisco DTA271HD -> HDMI -> Xbox HDMI IN -> HDMI -> TV AND Xbox -> IR emitter cable

Controlling your TV with the Xbox One X

The Xbox One X has an IR-emitter built into the front of the console (near the disc eject button), or it can use the Kinect. If either device is being obstructed by any objects, or not in a position where the IR light might not reach
the TV, the signal may not work.

If you used a
separate IR-emitter with your original Xbox One, you can try using that with the Xbox One X. If you used a Kinect to control your TV, you will need to get a

Kinect adapter in order to plug it into the Xbox One X.

 

Comcast Cable DVR

The Xbox One Demonstration showed it controlling live TV. 95% of TV I watch is recorded on a DVR. Will the Xbox One be able to control a Comcast DVR with its scheduling, searching, and series preferences? Will this be done using the IR port and an emitter?
Is it possible to use voice controls with the new Kinect and a Comcast DVR?

How long ago since you received your new box?

It looks like you're doing things the right way on your end, but like you say the box might not be in the system yet.

It would probably be available in the next firmware update.

 

do you know how often the firmware is updated? once a month a long with everything else i'm assuming?

 

So, I had the same issue with mine and just selected the dta170hd. As long as you set the provider options properly, it should work. I will say, mine didn't work until I configured that cheap remote, for some reason.

 

I just found the problem. Ok here is what you need to do in order to work.

1. Make sure the IR is close to the DTA box : like stuck to it in front of the sensor.

2. Like the user say above select DTA170HD

3. Wait for few seconds to work.

and there you go.

 

Im still having issues with mine... I have the DTA271HD as well and I put the HDA-RF2.2 (i take it, its radio freq) remote 2" in front of the DTA271HD and went thru the xbox TV setup. Am I doing this the wrong way guys?? Thanks
