Using mobile hotspot to game

Hey my internet is out for a few weeks due to the bushfires. I have 4G on my phone and connected my xbox one console to it. It says I’m connected to the internet but nothing works, netflix, eso, youtube. Any ideas on how i can play and keep my sanity!

You should try connecting another device like a computer. You should contact your carrier if problems persist.

It is on and the console says its connected to the internet but i cant do anything on my apps or games

Make sure your mobile data is on while using your hotspot

Sometimes a hotspot can be a workaround but sadly it's not the best option for gaming as it doesn't offer the best network structure. I hope these steps below give you a solution.

Clean your console's MAC and restart your internet devices.
Network Settings> Advanced Settings> MAC Address and Clear.

If the problems persists reset the console to factory defaults, you won't lose anything but you will need to log in with your account again. Email and password are required.

Follow this path and select reset keeping games and app.
In 5 to 10 minutes you will finish reconfiguring your console

To reset the console>
Settings> System> Console Info> Reset Console

If the problem still persists, you may need to do port forwarding. On this link you have more details about the ports, you need to talk to your ISP and maybe this is not possible on your hotspot device.
