Using Microsoft Account money to buy Live Gold Membership?

I entered the codes from $60 in Xbox gift cards in the hopes of purchasing a one year Xbox Live Gold Membership. I now have a $60 balance in my Microsoft account. When I try to purchase the membership, it will not allow me to use those funds now in the account.

Is it not possible to purchase the membership with this gift card money? If so, I see no clear information on the cards or your site explaining this restriction. Very frustrated. If I can't use that balance toward a membership, it is very misleading. It
should be made much clearer on the gift cards that they are not valid toward Live Gold memberships.

Buying Gold with Microsoft Account funds HELP!

I am wanting to renew my GOLD LIVE subscription, i have £45 in my Microsoft Account, but it will not let me pay for my subscription using this money!

Is there a way to pay for LIVE using the funds in my MS wallet?

When is this going to change?

 

Gold can only be purchased with a credit card/paypal or by purchasing a prepaid subscription card in a store. The currency is not set up to be used on a recurring subscription.

Yeah you need a reoccurring transaction funds like bank card or credit card or PayPal to subscribe to subscription service

As per the basic subscription common sense

Ms points were never a reoccurring purchase option if you want pay as you go

Go buy full priced subscription cards there is no having both ways

The dashboard deals are all subscription which can be canceled

Most businesses separate pay as you go from subscriptions with obvious benefits

 

that's awfully stupid.. I uploaded 3 cards for my son so he could buy what he wanted and no where does it say can't be used for subcriptions.. if I can cancel a subscription at anytime why am I not able to buy a month at a time...makes no dam sense

Ms currency cards actually say music movies dlc or games

And cannot be used for membership

There is a reason why you can buy prepaid membership cards

Also subscribers have the full benefit of discounts and not having to worry about running to.the store

As a parent you should know this since you get monthly bills every day of your life

Subscriptions and prepaid service has always been different

You don't get the same benefits you can get free games and discounts

Prepaid cards are only sometimes on sale and only sometimes come with dlc as a special

 

Subscriptions are always cancel at anytime however like your utilities and internet you have to notify your company of cancelation

Its not rocket science

Would you really call your isp or water company every month just to have internet or water or cable every month that would be extremely annoying not to mention really expencive

You can call those companies to cancel at anytime too
