Using keyboard & Mouse with the x1

I've recently become aware of some new tech that pretty much makes this possible.

Do you guys think It will be unfair for those of you still using controllers? I plan to purchase this soon to give it a try since about 90% of the people using it report success. I so very much love using my mouse in shooters and it could really encourage
me to continue purchasing those sorts of games on the x1 over the PS4/PC because of player base.

I'm wanting to hear some general opinions and I'm willing to provide some links to the hardware. It's fairly cheap to at only $59.99 - it also allows you to use your PS4 controller on X1 & PC. Then it allows to use the xone controller with everything as
well. The only thing that's not supported at this time is the PS4 itself.

Mouse and Keyboard makes controllers obsolete

Keyboard & mouse support is coming soon.

Players using a controller will not be put into games with players using a keyboard/mouse & vice versa unless they choose to.

Other than RTS games I can't stand using a keyboard/mouse to play games with,much prefer a controller.

 

Keyboard and mouse.. WHEN!???

I believe that Microsoft, and the other console manufacturers, should support keyboard & mouse natively.

Currently people are using keyboard & mouse adaptors which make the playing field far more unlevel than native support would do. How? Let me explain.

When you are using a controller games give you a generous amount of aim assist. When using the adaptor you are gaining all the benefits of playing with a keyboard & mouse, as well as that generous amount of aim assist. This gives players a huge advantage over
others.

This has gained such attention that players on PC are now using the adaptors to make their systems think a keyboard & mouse is a controller, because again they get all the benefits of keyboard & mouse as well as the aim assist for controllers.

So native support for keyboard & mouse would eliminate the advantage people currently have when using an adaptor.

 

I'm much happier with a controller, others are much more comfortable with a keyboard and mouse. If people are playing with what they prefer then I see no reason why it's unfair, if I was given a keyboard and mouse I'd barely make it across a map.

That said, if MS wanted keyboard and mouse to be compatible, they would have been. It is essentially modding to a small extent and in my eyes those gamers should have just bought a PC.

 

The whole reason aim assist is in console games is due to it being more difficult then using a mouse, now imagine mouse accuracy and aim assist. I for one would not play with you if I knew you Had modded your console in this way.

 

Firstly, modding a console is a huge violation of the ToU / CoC and I would advise anyone who is contemplating this to avoid doing so. That being said, I personally cannot play using a keyboard and mouse. Last game I did that on was Unreal Tournament and
I sucked lol. I find controllers much easier

 

Unreal Tournament was FANTASTIC... off topic I know but it needed to be said.

 

It really was! I will never forget that map with a castle on either side and a cave in the middle. Loved that sniper (testing my memory here) shock rifle? Great game, indeed. They still sell it believe it or not. I sucked though but still enjoyed it. Hence
why I would prefer a controller for my gaming

 

Yeah that map was cool, lots of M M M M MONSTER KILL!!! But with mouse you could easy circle straff around people to get easy one on one kills.

 

Any USB keyboard will work with your XBox ONE but that's for typing fella.

 

Mapping keys to KB & M just makes life easier, but controllers have their purposes too and one of them is ease of use.

 

It's not modding or against the ToS. Mouse and keyboard is always better in a FPS the accuracy is unmatched. Granted you can be really good on a controller but the mouse is pin point accurate if your comfortable with a mouse. Also with a mouse you always
want to shut off the aim assist it will just mess you up. You'll get a lot of grief if you tell people your using it. But more people use it than you think, mainly PC players that get into console gaming. I'm not sure of a $60 one, you want the best if your
going to do this otherwise it will never truly feel like a mouse.

 

@cloud and camhawk - what do you mean WAS fantastic? UT is STILL the daddy of competitive FPS
