    Hi there,

    So recently I have been looking into buying an Xbox One and have a few questions I need answered as the research I conducted online was inconclusive.

    1) Can I use a 3.5mm Headphone for audio on the Xbox One?

    2) Can I use a USB powered microphone for outgoing chat on the Xbox One?

    hey everyone, I’m looking at getting a USB microphone to use with my beats as I cannot use the microphone on the beats headphones. Any chances if you know if you can plug a USB studio mic into the USB port on Xbox one and get sound from the game, friends
    and communicate to friends with the microphone?

    Hi,

    Do you know if it's possible to hook up wired headphones to the USB port of the Xbox One? We don't need a microphone, just the headphones so our daughter can watch Netflix or Hulu without the rest of us having to listen. Thanks! Paul

    Thanks for the reply? So I have to buy another adapter to use my headphone. And what about chat audio? I currently use a Sony Mdr-1a as my audio source on PS4 and my Go Mic for microphone chat.

    Is there any way that I can use that on Xbox One.

    I have a USB adopter for my headphones.

    I used this USB adopter connected to my headphones plugged into my USB port on my Xbox One X.

    The USB port does not recognize my device. Another account has replied to your question with this information.

    Their is an audio port on the Xbox controllers, this port is designed for input / output audio.

    I use a microphone plugged into my headphones, sometimes.

    I tried the USB port, no Audio category was displayed on my Dashboard UI on the Profile & system section.

    I have heard and agree that USB transfers audio, as a higher quality compared to the microphone / headphones cable-prong.

    Hi there

    As stated it's suggested to use a headset instead of a USB microphone but if it works usb as power source with pink plug you can get a splitter that goes in to the jack of the controller and mircophone jack into mic jack female and headphones into the headphone
    jack and use the usb grabbing power that way, That is one way I have seen people setting them up like for broadcasting but that's for PC's mostly.

    It depends on the type of your streaming Microphone.

    If it's an USB microphone, then no.

    If the Microphone has an analogue connector (e.g. 3.5mm jack), you could use a headphone/microphone to CTIA adapter, and plug your Astro into the headphone plug and your streamer microphone to the microphone plug, and then plug the CTIA adapter into the
    controller.

    Alternatively, if you use a third party streaming software and are screen capturing from your PC, you can start the Party through the Xbox App on your PC, and stream the game to a capture card on your PC. Then you can mix the game audio from the captured
    console with your party sound (if your streaming software allows such a mix), and then stream that from your capturing PC to your streaming platform.
