Using Flight Sim 2020 on Xbox for PC but now want to buy outright

I want to buy Flight Simulator 2020 after having tried it out on Xbox for PC and need to know if I must download and re-install the whole game again or whether there is a way to buy it without having to do again.

If I try to cancel my Xbox subscription will Microsoft give me the option to buy Flight Simulator and change the ownership status of the copy already on my PC?

I am looking for any option that saves the need to download the game again. It took 3 weeks to get the download to complete the first time!

Hi,

I can't say for 100% sure as I've never bought a Game Pass title. However, the system was set up for users to purchase games from the Game Pass from the get-go. And I would assume it works the same way as it does on the console. On the console you don't
need to re-download your games.

Also, if you search for a game on the Windows Store, if you own it it will say so. If you don't own it, there will be an option to buy to own.

you don't need an xbox console but you require an xbox account which you already have by having a microsoft account. you can then get the latest flight sim 2020 if your pc is of good spec.

the older flight sim is playable with tweaks and plenty of flight sim forums will be the best place to get that game working again.

If older then 2020 then you need to download it via steam since older versions are not available except on steam
