  1. Using External Hard Drive Storage

This is a link to my Twitter post concerning issues I have had with using a desktop internal hard drive in a powered external drive enclosure with my XBox One. You may find this information useful. I uninstalled the entire Forza 6 Ultimate Bundle with all
DLC and reinstalled it to my internal drive.

Xbox Saves to USB to PC back to USB to Xbox?

I should point out in terms of KeRaigg's solution that it will have the same issues as the user stated about using USB Flash storage - you are limited to only 32GB of external storage for the Xbox, regardless of the hard drive size. 32GB is the maximum allowable
for external storage and anything greater than that would not be useable by the 360, so using an external 1TB hard drive offers no advantage over a 40GB hard drive.

If you plan on using an external hard drive only 32GBs will be allowed for storage

    GTA 5 Kicking Me Out

Is this game stored on your Internal Storage or External hard drive? If it's on your External Hard drive kindly move it to your Internal Storage then remove the hard drive. This is to check if it's due to the external hard drive.

Copy files from Mac to Xbox One external HDD ?

    Hi,

Not sure what you wanted to do here, could you elaborate?

As for external hard drives, you can't partition them for use as both external storage for games and for use with your Mac or PC. You can use an external hard drive on the Xbox One as a media drive, though.

If you format an external hard drive for Xbox One games storage, the whole drive is formatted and the file system is changed.

    Questions about hard disk space

Currently you cannot upgrade the Hard Drive or use external storage support.

External Storage will be available "soon". Hopefully in the next couple of months.

External Hard Drive with Xbox 360

Could your friend be talking about an external hard drive with an Xbox One. You can use an external usb 3.0 hard drive with that console, but you can only use external storage upto 32gb on an xbox 360.
