Using downloaded content offline on your old 360

I own both a 360 and an Xbox one.

I use both because I cannot store all my games on the Xbox one.

I want to be able to play my downloaded games on the 360 while offline. It sits in a room that doesn't have a modem and I don't have a 360 wireless adapter.

Can I have my Xbox one set as my home console and still play paid for and downloaded games offline on my 360?

On the 360 other accounts can access your games as long as they are using the same console that you originally downloaded the games on (or have transferred licenses to). You can play your content online or offline, but I believe the other accounts do have
to be online in order to access your content. They can still access your content if you delete your profile.

 

Internet will be out for a few days cant play downloaded games.

Hey there, so are you using the original console that you downloaded the game on and are you using the original account that downloaded the game?

It sounds like you might need to do a license transfer as I believe downloaded games won't work offline if it's not on the original console you downloaded it and if you're using an account other then the profile that originally purchased it.

After you do a license transfer you would need to re-download the game for it to fully take affect, steps here:

As long as you have the games downloaded to the 360 as well that's not a problem. The Home setting on the One does not affect anything on the 360. The only things you won't be able to do is continue your game save if it's a backwards compatible game and
you're going back and forth between the 2 consoles, and any achievements you earn will not be uploaded to the servers.

 

Right now my 360 will say it couldn't start the game when it's offline.

I'm trying to play resident evil 4 if that makes any difference.

If I bring it the 360 into the other room and plug in the internet cable and sign in to live, the game will start.

I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong.

My Xbox one is set as the home Xbox.

Edit-the version of resident evil 4 I paid for is 360 exclusive. They came out with a new version for the Xbox one which I cannot access and would have to pay for again. I just want to play it offline on the 360 as that's the console it's made for.

 

If it wasn't originally downloaded to that console, then the license is not tied to that console. You would need to connect it to the internet to do a license transfer, and then you would be able to play the games offline. https://support.xbox.com/xbox-360/store/download-content

Edit-it is a new 360 to me, my old one died and I purchased this one from a friend. The licence issue has to be it.
