    Using DLC (Map Packs) Without Internet


    I would like to preface this by saying that I am sure this has been asked/answered several times before, but a few minutes of Googling was unable to produce the answer, so I thought I'd try here.

    Being a PC gamer, I don't fire up the old 360 too much, but when I do, I like to play Nazi Zombies on CoD: WaW. However, only one map pack (the one that contains Shi No Numa) seems to load with the game itself. For the other two (Verruckt and Der Reise)
    I am forced to connect to XBox Live, meaning many updates since I only turn my 360 on every few weeks or so. Upon navigating to System Storage and going underneath World at War, I have moved all three map packs to my HDD storage, so they should all load without
    me having to connect to XBox Live. However, that does not happen, and I am still forced to connect and install updates. Since I have not and do not plan to get an XBox Gold membership again in the near future, I would like to know how I can make the other
    two maps load without having to be connected to the internet so I can fire up my game a few times a month without having to wait twenty minutes for an unused update every time. Thanks in advance!

    Help with Gears of War 3 online DLC

    Why complain about it? Without the DLC you get player hosted servers. With all the map pack DLC you get dedicated servers.

    why is everyone automatically assuming we're gonna get mappacks

    @ Waykam... if its anything like the DLC on Black Ops, basically the lobby is full of people with and without the map... if the DLC map is VOTED as the next map... the people without get dropped before the map loads. If you were in a party with someone
    that didnt have a certain map pack, it told you that THAT map pack was disabled automatically on your machine (that way if a map was voted and you had it and your buddy in the party didnt have it... he/she didnt get dropped and you continue on to the game--
    thus keeping you together as a party.).

    Since you have already purchased the DLC id suggest re-installing the DLC, if it keeps asking for an update after that, try downloading the DLC to a USB stick with your Xbox 360 hard drive not attached and update the game once try what you normally do

    Anychance you downloaded those maps on a different console originally?

    It sounds like your console wants to check to ensure you have the rights to play those dlcs.

    It sounds like your console wants to check to ensure you have the rights to play those dlcs.

    They said new achievements not all of the DLC's will have them but the campaign and map packs should have them. DLCs with achievements sell better then ones without.
