Using an Xbox One without Xbox Live Gold.

I believe it is not the cost of Gold that people are going to be complaining about in the future but just why it is required at all.

As more Xbox One games go to the Windows Store in Windows 10, I can see the complaints about the Gold requirement increasing.

Why should an Xbox One player require Gold to use the multiplayer on Gears of War Ultimate Edition but the person playing on Windows 10 does not?

In short. As Microsoft push greater integration between their console and PC gaming divisions with Xbox, more people are going to question why the Gold subscription exists.

Xbox One Backwards Compatibility question...

Instead of making a useless thread, Im going to piggy-back on this one.

I dont have Xbox Live Gold on my 360. I game-share with a buddy on Xbox One, and I use his Xbox Live. My question is will I be able to play a game like Gears of War: Judgement online when its on the B/C list on my Xbox One, even without the Xbox Live?

 

One should have figured after 15 years of Xbox LIVE Gold being a Paid Service....

 

As I do not play MP online, gold, especially now that I know what free actually means to 'corporate satanism' - Genchy. (I assume PS is the same) I'll save myself 'sixteen cents a day.' Couple that with deals with gold on movies, games etc that I'll no longer be
'tempeted' to buy. And this retiree will be saving a small fortune.

Oh, and I clip my nails. (Toe nail Tuesday and Finger nail Fridays) so no issues at all using keyboards.

 

Why anyone continues with a hobby they clearly don't get any enjoyment out of is beyond me.

Not a chance. Unlike stamp collecting I and millions like me put my investments to personal use. Not so much current gen, but it'll get used at some point.

 

Whatever you want to call it, you never sound like you enjoy gaming, as your constant complaining shows. The only time you show any positivity is when you latch onto a complaint thread to join in the MS bashing. You contribute nothing, never have anything
decent to contribute about the console or the games, Or even any constructive critisicm, just your endless rhetoric of corporate conspiracies to oppress the unsuspecting masses. If you put half the effort you put into moaning into gaming you might actually
enjoy your console. But I guess enjoying it would go against the grain.

This isn't news. It's been well known. If you can't afford an extra $60 a year you probably shouldn't be buying $50 games. Plus, you can almost always find a sale for $40 for a 12 month card.

The 360 games are free, but as usual, Xbox was getting ripped on because the the games on PlayStation were better month to month, but required PSN+ to play them, so MS did the same thing because that is what the squeaky wheels wanted.

This was known before they launched GWG on the X1.

Why would Microsoft stop charging for live it's a good source of income for them and I feel it's worth the value and they've been charging for a long time their main competitor Sony just started charging to play online this generation those charges aren't
going anywhere

 

I like "Games With Gold" much better than "Games As Long As You Have Gold". Rolls off the tongue more easily... IMO.
