Using a splitter cable for a chat headset.

    Hi there,

I am trying to make a game channel with some friends and have a simple question.

I bought a splitter that allows me to separate out the headset output and the mic input from the plug in my XBOX One Controller.

Is there a reason that anything other than using the mic on the input doesn't work (or is incredibly faint)? For example, if I was to connect the mic input to a mixer board or even directly to a direct output device (say an MP3 player...just to test if
its the board) I cannot hear the audio.

Is there something with the XBOX that keeps me from doing this? Any way around it? What I'd really like to do is make a mix (using a mixing board) and then feed into the mic input.

    Thanks!

    :)

3x optical cables, optical splitter or switch. One cable form ps3 to splitter/switch, one cable from 360 to splitter/switch and one cable from splitter/switch to headset reciever.

The blue tooth on the headset should have a button for switching which blue tooth device your paired to (e.g ps3 and mobile or ps3 and 360 blue tooth dongle). Press that for which console your using.

I have the px5's which is the same set up.

    Two earphones ?

Appreciate the 3 star feedback whoever gave it to me, don't see you helping out.

Ok, so your X1 and X11 connect via dual RCA cables and the headset itself conncts into a 3.5mm jack (that green plug). The chat function is held by the controller and amplifier in the headset so that shouldnt be an issue. Make sure the voice chat is set to
headset only. What you need to do is buy a 3.5mm stereo splitter. This will plug into the green jack that connects with the RCA cables. Both headsets then should be plugged into one end of the splitter. The amplifier on the headset should be more than enough
to deal with the signal. This should allow you to both hear audio with each headset. For chat, just plug the headset into the appropriate controller. You should both each have your own chat channel, however, I cannot garuntee the chat working for both. I've
tried in the past and chat has only worked on player 1. If it works then great. I can garuntee that the splitter should work and cost no more than $5.

Using a splitter cable for a chat headset.

What 4-pole (3.5mm) is the male-end of the splitter (the one that plugs into your controller/headset adapter)? It needs to be CTIA, if it's OMTP you'll have problems with audio or mic.

Party chat through Xbox App while hearing voice/game audio through headset connected to controller

    Hi there Horito,

Thanks for the reply. I was able to take a look into some resources. If you are using an Xbox One Controller, you will need the following components:

    • Xbox One headset adapter
    • 3.5mm CTIA Splitter cable (3 lines on the jack)
    • 3.5mm jack to jack auxiliary cable ( 2 lines on the jack)
You will need to connect the Xbox One headset adapter to the Xbox One Controller. Then the 3.5mm CTIA Splitter cable (3 lines on the jack) connects into the adapter. The splitter cable will be identified as headset and mic. The 3.5mm jack to jack auxiliary
cable ( 2 lines on the jack) will be used in the mic cord to the Yeti Mic.

    Hope this helps.

HELP! - Xbox One Headset Adapter

Getting similar issues with GameCom 777 series. Two 3.5mm jacks connected to a splitter then connected the headset adapter. The splitter is a OMTP - CTIA. Game and chat audio worked fine but my friends couldn't hear my voice. I found out that we have to
use the 3.5mm - 2.5mm cable supplied with the headset adapter. I've now ordered a 2.5mm male - 3.5mm female adapter. Going to give that a try, hopefully it works. I will end up with a lot of cable/adapters but oh well.

Has anyone found another possible solution?
