Using a Mac screen to play Xbox One

I apologize but that’s not possible.

We may need to have an Xbox Console Companion or Xbox App to use console streaming but that’s only available on Windows OS.

Well that would depend on what you’re using, as all of them have different hardware features. I am not aware of any Macintosh computer currently that features an HDMI input or direct capture device built-in. So that would be true.

You can purchase external devices, I’m not sure which ones are compatible you’ll have to research that. Keep in mind these devices are intended for video capture, or passive television viewing, and not millisecond dependent gaming

It’s probably a lot easier to just buy yourself a TV you’ll get a way bigger screen for the same money than a laptop.

Clean your console's MAC

Network Settings> Advanced Settings> MAC Address and Clear.

And when you start the game again follow these steps.

Before accessing the Main Menu, you must first be enrolled using the Kinect for Xbox One sensor.

1. Stand in front of the Kinect for the Xbox One sensor with your hands down at your sides.

2. Once the Kinect for Xbox One sensor identifies you, guide the on-screen hand using your hand to the “Play” button on the bottom right corner of the screen.

3. The next screen to appear is the “Select Profile” screen. Confirm the currently selected profile or select “Change Profile” to choose a different one.

4. Select your storage device before continuing if present.

what are you trying to do with the 2 connected ?

I am really trying to get the xbox screen to show up but I don't know what to do.

In order to get a Xbox One display on your Mac, you'll have to do more than just plug some cables together.

You can't connect the Xbox HDMI cable to the computer, as the computer can't be used as an external display for another device (an exception would be Target Display Mode for Mac-to-Mac display).

If you want to stream the Xbox One game display to your Mac, you will have to install "OneCast" from here: https://onecast.me/

That software is a similar streaming client like the Xbox app for Windows 10.

After setting up the software, make sure the software finds the Xbox One on the network, and then play.

Unfortunately there is a problem, if you log in to the WiFi with your Mac and then clone is MAC adress to the One. This will give you Internet access, but there are known problems that it does not allow you to play games online this way.
