Using a headset with a wired controller

I used wired when I play PC for both Controller and headset. On xbox, I use a wireless controller, but a wired headset.

I prefer wireless controller and wired headset, but I do not recommend using a wired controller and a wired headset. Some headsets will make a weird buzzing noise when plugged into a wired controller. And also, same goes for plugging your wireless controller
into your console to charge a battery pack.

check for controller/device updates sometimes you may get one you didnt know you had.

do you have the battery pack in? try using it with the battery pack out as when using as a wired controller you dont need the battery in. it may help with your headset issues. charge up the battery packs when not in use.

So I have tried the method below on plugging in and out. No dice. I was able to update my wireless controller, but with the wired controller its not allowing me to update. Firmware version 1.1.279.2 is installed and it won't allow me to select the firmware
box. In the instructiona it says it should automatically ask me to update when plugged into the USBs on the left side, but its not doing that either. I also noticed that when i select "buzz" it wont make the wired controller vibrate.

The reason i purchased a wired controller was for price, because my wireless is getting a bit worn out. Is the next step to just get another wireless controller?

Happens to my headset when i use wired . Mines a turtle beach . So this fixes it for me .ill plug headset n no sound. So i unplug controller plug itback in the when its on i unplug headset and then back in and wait 5 secs n bam works great. This should
work.
