    Using a external hard drive

Ok first I know you can't use external hard drive to play series x/s games. I'm using my external hard drive as a storage location and either copying or moving game file to internal when wanting to play. 50% of games seem to download via network and save externally just fine, however the other half before download give a prompt that this game must be stored internally to play, this I know. Then select the install anyway prompt to save on external and then continues to re prompt the same question over and over, then just decides itself to not download at all. Anyone else seem to run into this problem? Seems almost like a bug I run into with certain games.

    :)

    Using External Hard Drives

USB hard drives are compatible with the Xbox. You just need to format it with the Xbox, and then you can load it with movies and other media files.

See the support articles for more information:

    - Xbox One: Storage on Xbox One

    - Xbox 360: Xbox 360 Storage (disregard the bit about "flash drives", it should also apply to USB hard drives as well)

    Using External Hard Drive ?

In short yes to all your questions, remember if you want to play other media ie music/videos you need another HDD/USB Stick.

    Using External Hard Drive ?

You shouldn't have any problems, if it is 1.0 or 2.0 usb it will be recognized as your HDD for media files, if its 3.0 usb and want to use just for media files music/video/pictures just don't format it with your console.

    Using External Hard Drive ?

@GrowlingYapper I own a 4TB external HD that I use to play media off of on my Xbox 360. It was a bit of a pain getting it to recognize it as well as recognize it as a media player which are two totally different things. Do you know if a 4TB would work as
a media player on an Xbox One. I plan on grabbing a one but want to use my external as a media drive and have no intentions of using it as a stroage for games, etc.
