Using a 3rd party HDMI cable with the Xbox One X

    Hi,

My first Xbox One X console developed a fault with the HDMI port after just a few weeks. The screen used to flickered and go black now and again prior to the HDMI output completely failing. This meant that the console had to be sent off to Xbox and I received
a replacement console. I had a feeling that it was the HDMI cable that I was using? Due to my TV being quite a distance from my console (and on a swinging bracket), I purchased a 4K compatible 10m HDMI cable. Thinking this was what caused the fault, since
I've had my replacement console I've been reluctant to use the 10m cable and have had to move my TV closer to my console (which is not ideal at all) to be able to use the official Xbox One X HDMI cable.

I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem with the HDMI output on the console or could anyone confirm if a 3rd party HDMI cable can be used? I can't see why it would cause problems as long as the cable is 4K compatible?

    My TV is a Samsung
UE40MU6400 HDR 4K Ultra HD Smart TV

    Thanks in advance,

    Adam

    :)

Xbox One X bundled HDMI Cable is faulty

    Hi,

the HDMI bundled with my new Xbox One X is not working since the day of purchase. The TV does not detect the Xbox if connected with this bundled HDMI cable. I have tried to connect my friend's Xbox One X with his TV (different from my TV) using my bundled
HDMI cable but the result was the same i.e. his TV did not detect his Xbox. I am using a 3rd party HDMI cable in the interim to connect my Xbox One X to my TV since the day I bought this console. I am pretty sure the bundled HDMI cable is faulty. The retailer
who sold the console to me (Harvey Norman Singapore) refused to exchange the faulty cable for a new working cable and instead asked me to contact Microsoft support. They also mentioned that my Xbox is covered under Microsoft on-site warranty and that once
I contact Microsoft support, I will receive a new working HDMI cable for my Xbox One X from Microsoft.

    Please advise on this.

    Thank you

    Screen blackout

Same here and same LG OLED TV...

I've seen the problem, black screen, a few time yesterday after setting it up but it's mainly when watching TV. I was using my high end HDMI cables but last night I removed the one that goes from Xbox One X to TV and replaced it with the cable that came
in the box. No issues so far since doing that.

I've had mine plugged directly into the wall socket the whole time. I have HDMI from cable box to Xbox One X IN and the HDMI that came with the Xbox One X from it to the ARC (HDMI 2) input on the TV.

I'll keep an eye on it and report back if I see the issue again. If you are not using the HDMI cable that came with the Xbox One X then I'd maybe try it and see if it helps.

Using a 3rd party HDMI cable with the Xbox One X

    Hey Crossy!

If a device is plugged in between your TV and Xbox, remove it and plug your TV directly into your Xbox with the HDMI cable that came with the Xbox One X or Xbox One S. Some AV receivers or other video equipment may interfere with the data passed between
console and TV—your device must support the same capabilities as your TV, either directly or pass-through. Also, you must use cables certified for HDMI High Speed or HDMI Premium between both the Xbox and receiver, and the receiver and TV.

Allow auto-low latency mode grayed out connectiong to Samsung TV RU710D

I would use the HDMI cable that came with the Xbox One,

Third Party cables can be hit or miss depending on there quality,

I connected my X-Box One first generation to the HDMI 1 port using a brand new cable compatible with
    HDMI 2.0 and 8K resolution.
8K over HDMI 2.0 is not possible, A cable that can run 8K needs to be HDMI 2.1,

also the OG Xbox One uses HDMI 1.4, both the One S and One X use HDMI 2.0

I believe that, with your Xbox one being HDMI 1.4 it's not forward compatible with your TV HDMI 2.0 ports as to possibly why your low latency mode is grayed out, or it just could be the third party cable your using, best to try out the cable that came with
    the Xbox.

Blurry 1080p via HDMI- impossible to solve?

Could it be that you have a bad HDMI cable? Try another one. If that doesnt work, try hooking up the Xbox through VGA. Just be advised. I have heard the 3rd party cables are garbage meaning you should get the official Microsoft one.

XBox One X - Any alternative to this HDMI Cat6 extender for 4K UHD/HDR?

Yes not all hdmi cables are created equal

    Some will have latency

I find the xbox cable thst comes with the xbox great

I used third party ones like twisties cables they sre fast but still I had flickering

Solved the issue when I switched to the xbox x one.

    xbox one x

I don't think Microsoft sell the power cord for the xbox one x seperatly. You may need to purchase a 3rd party cable from an online retailer like amazopn
