Using a 360 controller on an original Xbox.

This is a question I've seen asked here and there, but most of the time the posters haven't been asking the right questions.

The main question here is if I can by any means use a 360 controller as a normal controller on the original Xbox.

What I know:

The wireless 360 controller has to be synced with a device (a 360, wireless receiver, etc.). The wired one seems to work normally.

There's a difference in the way 360 input is handled- mainly, it uses xInput instead of dInput.

The original controller is also an integrated USB hub for memory cards and other attachments.

So, the best way to go about this IMO is to make a wireless receiver (a separate box that would need its own power source) that would take the 360 input, then output through the cable as an original controller.

If anyone has found anything like this, please direct me to it.

I know this question has been asked to death. I just want to see if any progress has been made yet. If not, it's highly unlikely that it ever will.

EDIT: Apparently there's some model of the afterglow controller that has a connector for the original Xbox. I haven't found it, so I'm taking it as rumor, but if anyone can find it please post.

Xbox ONE controllers are poorly manufactured

I'm not hard on controllers. I'm still using my original 360 controller.

 

[Xbox 360] I want a free controller and I can argue why.

I'm still using the controller that came with the original release of the xbox 360's.
