    Hey all after calling Microsoft 4 times I just gave up. I have an original xbox one that was given to me. (unfortunately I do not know the original owner, so I can't logon online to have it unenrolled.) It's been reset in troubleshooting mode (full hard reset) and it tries to update right when you start it. It will fail on error code 0x8b05000f. The source OS is a lower version than the target OS. I am assuming this is because it was enrolled in the insider program at some point. I am currently downloading the offline update to try that. Xbox support seems to have no idea what I'm talking about. They can't help. Anyone solved this in the past or had any luck? Appreciate your help. Thanks.

    Also... If this is an issue how in the world do game stores sell these devices used? Seems like a waste of everyone's time.

    Thank you for keeping us updated. Using the Xbox Insider HUB on someone's console will allow the account to unenroll from the Xbox Insider program. The device that is unenrolled will not be completely removed from the Xbox Insider program until the next
    update. Make sure the correct account is signed in to the Xbox One. Be sure to let us know the results!

    Original Xbox On update problem.

    It sounds like the original xbox one that updates very often is enrolled in the insiders program where you get preview updates before others. If you want to unenroll please open the preview app and select the option to unenroll this xbox from the program
    and the next update will be the regular public build.

    About the network error, if you turn off the console and unplug it for 30 seconds and reboot does it still happen? Can you try the Network connection test in Settings > Network to be sure it doesn't say "hardware problem" after that reboot?

    As previously stated, if you are enrolled in the Xbox Insider preview program you CANNOT use Offline System Updates (OSU) unless you unenroll from
    the program.

    When you unenroll, usually a factory reset will be performed.

    Is your console by any chance in the Xbox Insider program? If it is, then that will be why you get more updates than anyone of your friends. To unenroll just launch the Xbox Insider app, go into settings and unenroll the console. You will get one more
    update, and then no more until the public update gets released.
