Used console with games on hdd

So I'm looking to buy a used 360 and the seller says he has many games on the hdd. How would this work for me? I thought games were tied to the buyers gamer tag. Is this true or are they tied to the console/hdd?

Adding my music to an external xbox one hard drive

If you format your HDD with the console you can only use it for Games and Apps'

To use an external HDD you can put your media files on it using your PC and will be used by your console as a music/video storage if you have a USB 2 HDD it will automatically be used as the media HDD remember you cannot mix Games/apps with media on the
same HDD.

Transferring hdd to another xbox

The second HDD doesn't have any arcade games or dlc that I downloaded onto it. I just use it when my main console is being used by someone else. I download all dlc on my main console the other console only has my profile and saved games on the cloud. Just
wanted to know if I can just format my second HDD and have no problems with using my profile on it while other people are using the console with the main HDD.

When you purchase content it is tied to the gamertag that purchased it as well as the console it was purchased on. The console license is what allows all other profiles on a console to access that content.

Digital content cannot be sold/transferred to other accounts. So he would still own the games and if he were to do a license transfer on another 360, you will lose access to those games. So I would avoid a sale like that if he is adding those games into
the price.

Definitely do not pay more because there are games on the hard drive.

If the games were originally downloaded to that console, they should work, but the original purchasing gamertag can remove those console licenses at any time and you would lose access to the games.

The console has a storage management in the settings, where you can copy or move the games on the console from one HDD to another.

Depending on the reason for which you wish to copy the games, you might keep in mind the following:

If you just want to upgrade the HDD to a larger HDD, and use the new HDD on the same console, there is nothing you need to do. Simply copy/move the games to the new drive, and you're done. Everything will work as before.

If you intend to use the HDD on a different console, be aware that in that case you'll either have to be online on that console with the account that bought these games, or the "owner" account that bought these games has to set the console as their "Home
Console", so that others can play their games.
