Use the Microsoft Wireless All-in-One Media Keyboard (N9Z-00028) on Xbox

    Hi everyone

I have a Microsoft Wireless All-in-One Media Keyboard (N9Z-00028) https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/en-au/products/keyboards/all-in-one-media-keyboard/n9z-00028 and thought it would be great to have it fully functional on my Xbox One X and other Xboxes
    in the future.

I just spoke with an Xbox person who suggested that I post here because there was not anyone I could speak directly about my question.

Getting driver support for this truly excellent All-in-One (AiO) keyboard has a number of advantages:

    1. Given the functional and practical logistics of using a wired keyboard and/or mouse with the Xbox it seems more practical and sensible to use a wireless type(s) of accessories
    2. This AiO keyboard could then be offered as an official accessory (and promoted as such via the usual channels) for all (including the new Series Xbox to be released later this year) and be used from the comfort of loungeroom chair in the same way as the
Xbox controller (although this does have an snap-on keyboard it is not as easy to use as the AiO would be) and Xbox remote https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/accessories/xbox-one-media-remote-info) are used
    3. It would begin to make the Xbox more "PC-like" with Windows 10 and thus improving web searching, typing messages etc.
    4. Certain keys and experiences on the AiO keyboard would enhance menu use on the Xbox
    5. Older people would find it useful
    6. It could be used to control video playback content such as YouTube clips etc.

Currently only the QERTY keyboard keys works when the nano-receiver is plugged into the Xbox and the keyboard is switched on so the following functional changes would need to added to the driver:

    1. Touch pad enabled including the home, headphones and folder buttons above the touchpad
    2. Volume controls enabled including volume up, volume down and mute keys
    3. Function, alt and Ctrl keys enabled
    4. Cursor keys such as up, down left and right keys
    5. Large TV's and Surface Hubs could have Xbox entertainment features used in new ways as Windows 10 is installed and a version of Windows 10 is developed

I am satisfied that these changes will exponentially improve sales of this accessory and would be the keyboard of choice for many more than the those of the gaming community, who use the Xbox for entertainment and other TV purposes.

Hopefully this is seen by engineers who can make the necessary changes then let the MS community know that the changes have happened via the usual "what's new" updates for the console.

Thanks in advance for anything that can be done to expedite these changes in a timely way.

    Best regards

    Peter Hollow (from Australia)

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for the post and welcome to the forums. That would be amazing, especially seeing as its a Microsoft product, you'd think they'd put the support in for it.

What you can maybe also do is post your idea/suggestion here https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxinsiders/wiki/ideas

I know there is some support for peripherals such as the razer turret. and i've used my MSI mouse and keyboard on my xbox but only for games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare.

OK don't laugh, is there anyway to use a keyboard and mouse

Keyboard = Yes (I have the Microsoft All in One-Media Keyboard (wireless) But chat pad doesn't)

Mouse = No :( (See Microsoft All in One-Media Keyboard (wireless) in Yes Answer)

I do wish Xbox would update the One for the MS Media Keyboard - That would be Awesome
