Use controllers for games instead of kinect

Is there a way to play a game using just the controllers instead of using yourself as the controller? If not, I just wasted my money buying this console.

Controller constantly disconnects...

Here is a possible solution for those with a Kinect.

So I spoke with phone support last week and she had me sync the controllers with the Kinect instead of the console. Press and hold the sync button on the controller until it starts to flash and point it at the Kinect - don't press the sync button on the
console itself. It seemed to take longer to sync this way, but both of my controllers did sync.

I didn't even know we could do this, but since doing so, my controllers have stayed synced. For the past few weeks while the Xbox was in standby the controllers would unsync and I would have to resync (usually wouldn't work), use a cable (worked 75% of the
time), or restart the console, every couple of days. I still think something got messed up due to an update because I never had these problems so frequently before, but at least so far this Kinect-syncing has worked for me.

Possible to use mic instead of Kinect for commands?

Is it possible to use the Xbox mic instead of Kinect for commands such as shouting and equipping weapons? I think since you can now use Cortana with your mic that you should be able to.

There are plenty of Games on both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One that you can use regular controllers on to control the game.

I don't know what type of gamer I am I only play controller based games and at the moment I have no interest in Kinect that could change but so far the games for it don't appeal to me. I think the best thing MS could do is start making games that can be
played using either a controller or Kinect instead of making Kinect only games and controller only games like they do now.

you can change this under dr3 settings to - use controller and not kinect so instead of shaking it you press the 'b' button.

but yes, the kinect has to be able to see the controller if you shake it. there is no accelerometer in it to break

7 games = 500 GB ?? Which ones?? I hate that I have to use a controller or kinect to play games...why can't the console just read my thoughts instead?

Did you look at my achievement before making that statement ? I played numerous Kinect game and like all of you I was frustrating in the responsiveness and how gimmicky some of the control where. I looked at the Kinect 2.0 hardware and its a totally different
beast. I don't want a "kinect game", I want the additional input control to be an add to the experience not the main experience.
