    Hi all!

I have been using an external portable hard drive to watch movies and TV shows through my Xbox for a very long time now. I have always had 2TB or less hard drives and formatting was fairly easy with the right program. Most of you all know it needs to
be in FAT32 format and then configured by the Xbox to be seen as a media drive. I am beginning to run out of space on my 2TB and found a 4TB 3.0 portable hard drive on the low so decided to give it a shot and would return if it didn't work.

At first I could not get it to work - trying many different combos of formats, partition types and partition styles to no avail. I finally found a program that allowed me to change convert to FAT32 and change the cluster size (Windows does this but you
cannot change the cluster size to 32 Kb). After converting my drive to FAT32 with a 32 Kb cluster size I crossed my fingers and plugged it into the Xbox.

I went to the media player thinking that I would see the "Portable Device" area grayed out as you usually do with new drives that are first plugged into the Xbox (as they have to be configured by the Xbox first for them to be read as a media drive) but
I was able to access the drive right away without any preconfigurations. I was able to play all of my media off my drive and now use it everyday.

Just thought I'd share this tidbit as I know this has been a headache for some. Enjoy!

    :)

  3. Hard Drive compatibility / upgrades

I have an older xbox 360 with 60GB HDD installed on top and I need more storage space. I received a 320GB Media Hard drive for the xbox 360S for Christmas. Can I use the 320GB hard drive with a hard drive transfer cable with the original xbox 360 ? If
I transfer data from the 60GB to 320GB, then disconnect the 60GB and use the 320GB as an external hard drive, will this work and if it does, are there any disadvantages such as longer load or save times ? thanks.

i dont understand why there would be a limit to the external storages since we can connect to the internet and thats like billians of TB and gigs,,i thought if you could afford more drives and got the open ports that you could connect and go ,,i just got
a 64 gig toshiba external flash drive which becomes 50 somthing gigs instead which i dont understand since ini files never seem to be near a gig to be able say {here i am and this is what i do},,,luckily download history saves the access to redownload the
games so i can delete a game that i have played and just save the game history it just takes longer if i want to put it back, but anyways realy there shouldnt even be a size limit even if ya wanted to save on a computor it should be able to use that as a storage,,,
the only concern is about alterations but if the pc is microsoft product and soft ware then im sure they can make the safe guards to avoide the changeing of the games and their systems otherwise if there was a limit i cant imagin we would be able to connect
to the network which is like way above those digits

To install Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition disk 2, can I put on flash drive or xbox flash drive.

Sorry to hear it. The 360 can now use an external hard drive up to 2 TB in size. However, if a game requires the use of an official Xbox 360 hard drive then there is no workaround for that.

New External HDD works with Old xbox?

External (USB) hard drives will work on any model Xbox 360 in the same way a USB Flash memory. Regardless of the size of the hard drive, the X360 will only use a maximum of 16Gb of that memory. The rest of the memory will not
    be available.
