Use a second login for the same xbox account

I am going through a divorce, but the issue is while together, we got an xbox and set the xbox account to my hotmail email address/microsoft account. Now, he is keeping the xbox and needs to still sign in to the xbox account for all his game saves and purchases. However, I can't have him knowing what my email password is, because I have lots of sensitive information (12 years worth) including for our current custody case that I don't want him being able to log in to outlook and see.

I have searched all over the place and even talked with chat support and keep finding things about using aliases, but those use the same password, so that won't work. It seems like my only options are 1) create a new microsoft account/email and hope I can remember everywhere/everyone I need to update on the new address and abandon my 12 year old email to him or 2) remove our xbox from my account, have him add the device to his own, and then change my password and make him lose years and hundreds of dollars worth of games.

Would it be possible to utilize the family group? Say *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** is the address for our xbox account and microsoft account, but on the family group under *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***, I added *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** as a member. Is that email2 member able to signin to the xbox account using their email2 address and password? Surely something like that should work. I mean, Amazon has it figured out with their music. My ex and I still share the music unlimited family plan and all I had to do was send his email the family link and he can login under his own email and password now instead of mine.

I know the issue probably relates to licensing and trying to make sure only one person is accessing each paid copy of a game. But if all you did was transfer the licensing key from one xbox account to another, the previous account isn't able to use the product and it would be like selling a physical game disc.

If there is not a current way to cleanly switch an xbox account to a separate email with a separate password, then please create a support ticket for your devs. It seems like there are a couple ways to solve it, but it is an issue that I've seen come up again and again in google searches.

I don't like to give people bad news, but in your case, I can only see two options and on both options one of you would need to give something up:

- As you actually mentioned on your post, you can create another email address for you and set everything up on it. On this case, you would be able to delete your current email address from the actual "shared" Microsoft account and after 60 days, add this email address to the "new" created Microsoft account for you. And your ex-husband can use an email address he likes on the "shared" Microsoft account. You will use the same email address after two months, but on the beginning you would use another one and would need to setup everything personal on it.

- You can keep using your account just fine and your ex-husband can create a new Microsoft account for him. Since the "shared" Microsoft account is on the console (and probably set the console as the Home Xbox for the account), your ex will be able to play all the games purchased on the "shared" account on his new Microsoft account. But, all his games progress (on the shared account) would be lost and all in-game items purchased would be lost too.

Unfortunately, these are the two only options available and on both options, one of you two will lose something.

Just login to same account on the second console. Data should be synced if saves are on cloud

Was he making a forza account or xbox because if he used the email he used to login to microsoft then try to login there with the ild account and see if the same forza account is linked to his xbox account
