    USB Write Protection Issue

About a month ago I formatted my usb and put some music on it so I could play songs while gaming on my XBOX 360. I went to go format it today so I could use it to transfer some files from my old computer to my new one and now it says that it is "Write
Protected" and it shouldn't be. What do I do?

    :)

    USB is write-protected after save

Please do not bump a thread from a year ago. You should start a thread of your own and detail your issue there.

Xbox content such as saves are not meant to be ever put on your computer.

    USB is write-protected after save

    Hi LegitCorgi38910,

I believe onyx62is has gave you a good answer. You can save your game to the cloud or your HDD, after you have done that you can go to My Xbox->System Settings->Memory and select the "USB Storage Device" that corresponds to your USB memory stick and select
the configure now option. This will ensure that your USB drive is fully compatible with your Xbox 360. I hope this helps.

Try choosing a separate save spot. You can use the Cloud service to save.

    Flash Drive Write-Protection Issue

Hey there Brian! This definitely sounds frustrating, so let's see what we can do to get things sorted.

It sounds like the flash drive you're using may be on its way out, but just in case it's not, let's try to resolve the write protected issue first.

To get that sorted, I suggest finding a how-to guide for resolving write protection errors on a USB/Flash Drive. A couple good ones can be found here -

How To Fix Write Protection Errors On a USB Stick
    - and here -
How to Remove Write Protection From My USB Flash Drive
. It very well could be something as simple as flipping a Write-Protection switch on the side of the flash drive.

If none of that works for you, then I'm sorry to say that it sounds like the USB/Flash drive may be on its way out. I would suggest taking another USB/Flash drive (if you have one) and try

    downloading your profile
to that drive. Once that's done, try accessing your profile, etc and see how things go.

Let us know how everything goes! We hope to hear back from you. =)
