USB Tuner and Freeview box too

The Usb tuner works great on my XBOXONE but as it doesn't do timed record yet so I kept my HUMAX and connected it to the HDMI in.

I have set them both up but cant see how to choose to watch a pre-recorded show from the Humax.

I also have a HTPC which I connected to the HDMI in of the XBOX to play movies using a HDMI matrix switch, When on the PC it says that XBOX ONE only accepts 2 channel audio. Xbox One support says I can use a surround BETA option but it is not in my menu.

Anyone have any way of solving these issues?

When the tuner can do timed record and HDMI accepts surround then it will be good for home cinema users. Needs a way of selecting HDMI input (for whatever is connected) instead of only expecting a TV box signal too I think. A tile for "HDMI IN" would be
good for people that have the tuner and may want to connect other items into the HDMI input I would suggest.

    :)

You will probably need a freeview box. I'm not really sure how that all works because we don't have freeview in the United States. Assuming freeview boxes connect via HDMI, then you can use it on Xbox One. Otherwise you will need a freeview box and the Xbox
    One Digital TV Tuner.

Can I connect a freeview HD box and control it via the HDMI passthrough?

Can I connect an aerial to the TV tuner to receive freeview channels and control them with my voice?

Can I connect a satellite/coax cable to the TV tuner to receive Sky channels and control them with my voice? Or can I only connect a box via HDMI?

Enen, that's not a rumour, the Xbox One digital TV tuner is coming out in October and will cost 25 quid. It basically allows you to watch Freeview on the console, pause Live TV, use voice commands to change channels, works with DVB, DVB-2 and a 3rd one which
is DVB-C..? Anyways, you get your aerial lead and plug it into the tuner and then plug the USB bit into the Xbox One's many USB ports to be able to use the OneGuide. Should be able to use the Smartglass as an Xbox One media remote too.

The TV tuner is an alternative to a set top box which won't require you to use the HDMI in port.

    xbox one and freeview

@RippenHarra Freeview is not built into every television set here in the UK and it is most commonly a Box you have to buy seperately, we in the UK have just recently gone from terrestrial TV with a wopping 5 channels to having to have a digital tuner, the
reason it is a box is because we have a choice of different providers, Sky, Freeview, Youview, Freesat, it will however eventually end up as standard that TVs will have built in digital tuners but thats not the case at the moment.

If you've got an Aerial that goes into your HD, Freeview enabled telly, that should work with the X1 tuner, it's the same aerial that plugs into Freeview boxes.

It'll be good to play around with it and see if the channels look any better. It's currently coming out in the UK and a couple of European countries.

If your TV has in-built Freeview, can you still use Live TV on your Xbox One, and how?

If you wish to run Freeview through your Xbox One, the solution is to buy an external Freeview tuner.
