  1. USB to transfer content to another xbox 360- any advice?

My plan is basically to use my 120gb drive on my mates xbox- same type as mine- which has my content/data.

I have a 16gb Usb drive already in my xbox- and already formatted- with some data on that, and it is this I'll use to move his data from his hard drive to mine (not sure how much, will be less than 60gb though).

My two questions for any experts out there are:

    • 1.) Will simply fitting my hard drive to his xbox work out alright, with no extra configurations that'll erase my data or anything? Both xboxs are 360 originals, with a 120gb original drive.
    • 2.) Using my Usb to store then transfer his data to my hard drive. Once a Usb is formatted (on my xbox) I'm basically hoping that means it can be plugged into my mates xbox and work properly, and it shouldn't need formatting again?
Cheers to anyone who answers! USB to transfer content to another xbox 360- any advice? :)

    :)

    xbox transfer

You should be able to do a Transfer to any storage device. Insert the USB flash drive, create a USB Memory Unit on it, then highlight the HDD in System Settings, Memory, and hit Y. You should get a Transfer option.

Keep in mind Transfer MOVES content. It's unwise to use Transfer on a brand new flash drive when you don't know if it'll work reliably on another device or not. There have been many threads about people transferring content to USB flash drives, only to find
out the flash drive doesn't work in another 360 or comes up as unformatted.

It's better to take the time and manually Copy as much content as possible, resorting to Move only when necessary.

I'm afraid to ask, but what data of his are you transferring over to your Xbox? I only ask, because if you're going to be breaking Xbox Live's ToS, we should at least warn you first. (Not saying what you are attempting to do is bad as we don't know yet)

All game saves are tied to a person's Gamertag, so it isn't like you could access them, if you are trying to do that.

If you're planning on playing couch co-op and just want his "stats/data" while he plays with you, just have him load up his profile on your Xbox and have his data on the USB drive, and when he signs in, have it point to that drive.

  5. Right, well the purpose is for both of us to have our accounts/profiles on one xbox- we're moving into a flat and will only be taking one xbox- and therefore we want both our game save files on one hard drive/xbox, but linked to our individual profiles (I'm
    assuming?).

Em I've not played my games on anyone elses xbox before, so I'm new to storage transfer stuff. Can you give examples of things I can't transfer to my drive that's off his xbox?

  6. You wont have any problems.Theres nothing to transfer. All your saves and purchases will be available to you on his 360 by simply swapping hard drives. When your friend wants to play his games he simply needs to remove your hdd and swap it for his own.If youre
wanting to put all his items on your hard drive just have him sign in on your console and redownload his items from his account/purchase history and then redownload his licenses. It takes longer to redownload everything but its cheaper and more convenient than
using a usb or data transfer all that stuff.

  7. The only thing you need to put on your usb drive are your friends save files. They can access them from there or transfer them from the usb to your hard drive .Be careful though about account security having both profiles on one console.Set your profiles
to require a 4 digit passcode so neither of your can make purchases using the others bank accounts.
