How do you transfer a gamertag to and from an xbox 360 Elite and a xbox 360 "E"?

So, are you talking about a common usb thumb drive? I had imagined that the xbox 360 "E" could recognize an everyday usb thumb drive, but does the xbox 360 "Elite" recognize usb thumb drives?

USB drive no longer appears under storage devices.

2 years is about right for a USB thumb drive. They have a finite number of reads/writes. Once that number is reached, they're useless. Don't use USB thumb drives.

    Hi ELLIK954

    Please try the following:

1.Scroll left from the Home screen to open the guide.

    2.Select Settings.

    3.Select All Settings.

4.Select System, and then select Storage.

5.Select your storage device, and then select Format for games & apps.

After you've tried this, please let me know if you are able to save games to it. If it doesn't work, we can run through some other potential options.

    Take care

I'm afraid it won't. Game saves must be moved using Xbox 360 Cloud Saved games (Xbox Live Gold subscription required), while actual Xbox 360 games that are back-compatible on Xbox One can be redownloaded via Ready to Install on Xbox One's My Games & Apps
    page.

format means erase EVERYTHING on the drive so back up important data first

    Hey Crystal,

I split your question from the
    thread
you posted on to create a new one for you so we can direct our assistance to you.

To answer your question, no a formatted thumb drive on the 360 will not work to save games for Xbox One as they use two different formats. The 360 uses the FAT32 format, while the Xbox One uses NTFS. If you plug in the USB into an Xbox One, the console should
automatically begin the format process. You can also format the flash drive from a Windows based computer by checking out this website for steps:

    https://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/console/format-flash-drive-to-ntfs-windows

    I hope this helps!
