USB Ports stop working

I am having an issue that I have not seen discussed anywhere. On my Xbox One, using a charge and play cable to update my controllers they Xbox will show a no controller connected error. Due to this I will be unable to update my controllers firmware. However,
if I hard reboot my Xbox it will work again for a certain amount of time. This also affects playing using the play and charge cable when the battery is low. Does anyone else have this issue, and how (if you did) did you resolve it?

How many truly broken Kinects?

I had an issue with my Kinect sensor switching on and off. The problem turned out to be the Skylanders portal connected the the USB port on the back of the Xbox.

I suspect that anything that draws power from the USB port could cause the Kinect sensor to stop working properly

 

usb ports not working

I have an arcade model xbox with three usb ports. I have a kinect, a wireless adaptor and a usb stick connected. I find each time i turn the console on one or more of the usb connections does not register. this seems to alternate each time i turn it on......
very frustrating since i have upgrades saved on the usb memory... What is going on??????/

 

The Play and Charge cable isn't meant to be used as a Micro USB cable... That's your problem. You'll have to use a Micro USB cable to update the controller(s)

I also have a problem with it not charging correctly while playing with a low battery so I can't help you there.

 

That is odd since it works fine as a micro USB cable. However, as luck may have it, I had a small stack of about 30 Micro USB cables, new and old, and of all lengths.

Same problem, with EVERY cable.
