  1. USB Ports Seem to Not Be Working...

    Hi there,

Don't know if this is the correct forum (first-time poster) but I've been having some issue with my Xbox One's USB ports. In the most recent update it says we can update our controllers, so I tried to do this by plugging in a USB-microUSB to my controller
in order to update. I do not have the Play-n-Charge kit, so I used a standard micro USB cable to do this.

When I take out the batteries to the controller and plug it in via USB (on the side) the controller turns on, I am able to move around and play. But the controller consistently says "low battery" and when I go to update it, the Xbox asks me to connect the
controller to via USB cord. Very frustrating.

To test this again, I plugged in an external storage device via USB to see if it would work. The device gets power from the Xbox, and initially when I plugged it in the Xbox asked if I wanted to re-format the drive for games (It's a 1TB, USB 3.0 Seagate
drive), but I said no, b/c I just wanted to see if the USB drive works. I put some photos on the drive in order to change my background image on the Xbox, in order to test.

When I do this, and go into Media Player, the external drive does not show up. If I go into the system settings and try to change the background image, the external storage device is not an option. I have a Plex account and a MyNet router that is accessible
via wireless in the Media Player, but the external drive is nowhere to be found.

All this leads me to believe there is an issue with the USB ports on my Xbox. I've tried the two other ports along the back and got the same issues. My devices receive power and turn on, but do not register on the Xbox.

What should I do? Should I call support, exchange for a new one? Or am I missing something? Thanks.

    :)

If your console is very old it's possible that it's finally starting to give up the ghost. You should consider doing what I did before it dies outright - find a gaming store near you that has a great trade in deal and trade your console in for a newer model
with a warranty. I traded in my older console for a new slim during a trade in offer at my local gaming store and basically got my 250 gb slim console for $130.

Play and Charge Kit Charger doesn't charge.

Yes, I did try plugging it in different USB ports and none of them seem to make the charger work. I have another Play and Charge kit, but it works fine in all of those USB ports.

Thrustmaster 458 TX wheel not working anymore after update

Update (cant edit it seems), i figured out both rear USB ports stopped working. Neither controller or wheel is working on those, only the side still working.

What is wrong with my Xbox accessories app?

No matter what I do I can’t seems to get the profiles to show correctly I have tried all the steps. I guess it’s not too big of a deal because I can still use my profile just they reset sometimes like that but the controller works fine. I guess nothing works perfectly so I’ll deal with it.

I do have another question though. In the Xbox support it says to charge the controller with a USB port on the computer. Well I am out of USB ports on my computer but I do have a USB hub plugged into an available USB c port on my computer. I have the charging dock plugged into a USB 2.0 port from the hub. Is this ok or does it need to be directly connected to the computer USB port.
