USB ports power supply turning off

    USB ports power supply turning off


    Hi, is there any way to turn off USB ports power supply after completely turning off the console? It is in standy mode, not in "instant-on" mode, and the ports are still powered on. It disconnects extended storage somehow, i don´t know why, because ports are still
    powered on and i can charge phone for example. The TURN OFF EXTENDED STORAGE option in settings is missing, i read it was there. So if someone have some idea how to fix it i will appreciate the help in this problem. Thanks USB ports power supply turning off :)

    HardDrive Choice and Help.

    Yep, I have it set to power off the HD when console shuts off. When its in fast boot turned off the HD turns off with it. Its when I wanna fully shutdown the rear USB ports seem to keep supplying power which makes the HD And Xbox communicate and the xbox turns back on. The front USB port doesn't. I can fully shutdown with the front USB port.

    HardDrive Choice and Help.

    Hey guys, gonna be an odd one.

    Currently I'm using the Xbox 8TB Game Hub 7200rpm with a barracuda drive in it. Yes I know, 8TB is overkill but it has 2 USB ports on the front which is awesome. Uses a Wall plug to power though. (Not an issue really)

    This cost £164

    There is a 4TB USB powered version without USB ports for £100 and its only 5400rpm.

    I thought logically... I'm getting 4TB extra and 2 USB slots as well as a 7200rpm barracuda drive for £64 so I went with the 8TB gamehub.

    Now the issue I'm having which I didn't have with a previous hard drive is that when plugged into the back of my Xbox one x .... If I press the button once and put it to sleep, the hard drive does in fact turn off with the Xbox. However if I want to Shut down the Xbox completely the hard drive doesn't turn off which then seems to send a signal back to my Xbox and after 10 seconds my Xbox turns itself back on from a hard powered down state.

    The only way I can fully shutdown the Xbox and not have it turn back on is by unplugging the hard drive OR using the front USB port (which I don't like as leaves a wire on show for my daughter to grab) . for some reason the front USB port shuts down the hard drive when I fully shutdown the Xbox but the rear ports dont.

    Long bloody winded I know, but I'm te.oted to return this HD and get the USB power 4TB. I'm wanting to know if I'm going to see the difference between 5400rm and 7200rpm in loading times?


    While I'm hear anyone else have this issue? I have read online tons of people saying the rear ports constantly supply power even when shut off?

    Hello,

    Try follow these steps:

    1. Restart the Xbox 360 console.
    2. Disconnect the device from the USB port, and then turn off the console. After 5 to 10 seconds, turn the console back on. After the console has restarted, reconnect the device to the USB port.
    3. Turn off the console, remove the power cord from the power outlet, reconnect the power cord, and then turn on the console again.
    4. Disconnect any unnecessary devices from the console.
    5. Determine whether the USB device requires a separate power supply. If it does, attach the power supply.
    6. Connect the USB device to a different USB port on the console and see whether the device works. If the device works in another USB port, the Xbox 360 console may require service.
    Note If these steps didn't resolve the issue, the Xbox 360 console may require service. Start the repair process online.

    Completely resetting the Xbox One console’s USB ports
    (in order to fix issues such as failed self-calibration, wheel not recognized, some missing
    Force Feedback effects, conflict with the gamepad, etc.)
    * The USB ports on the Xbox One are always On (even when the console is Off)
    * To completely reset the console’s USB ports:

    • Power off the console.
    • Disconnect the power cable from the back of the console
      (the LED on the console’s power supply turns ORANGE).
    • Leave the wheel connected to the console.
    • Reconnect the power cable to the back of the console
      (the LED on the console’s power supply turns WHITE).
    • Power the console back on using the XBOX button located on the console
    • Start the game using the wheel

    If that doesn't help then it may be best to contact Support at Thrustmaster

    It is a custom shaped USB 3.0 port coupled with a power port.

    so i left my house one day for a few hours and when i came back my xbox wouldnt turn on. i tried changing outlets, power cords, and the tv it was on and it still wouldnt turn on. i came to the conclusion that it was the power supply and ordered one immediatly.
    i just replaced the power supply and it still wont turn on, so i checked to see if everything was alright and one of the usb ports on the back is burnt. i had nothing plugged up to my xbox except the power cord and my hdmi cable, but im wondering if the usb
    port being burnt has anything to do with my xbox not turning on.
    Its probably isn't plugged in all the way that happened to me a lot before i got the Xbox one x

    If you had warranty from a retailer like gamestop they can replace it and give you a new one or if you bought in a Microsoft store then they can fix it for you
