USB Ports Not Working Suddenly

I have been using the USB ports for a long time for both TV tuner and external hard drive support. A few days ago I suddenly noticed that neither of them were working anymore. I went through a bunch of support help and nothing seems to have solved the problem.
I even tried a factory reset and that didn't seem to solve the issue. I am a part of the preview program so I don't know if that has something to do with it.

External Hard Drive Problems, won't recognize

Hey Doug! Sorry to hear about this - out of curiosity, have you tried plugging into a different USB port on your Xbox One? It might be unlikely, but for the PC to recognize it, but suddenly NOT the Xbox (after working fine for a while) it almost sounds like
an issue with the USB port....

usb ports not working

I have an arcade model xbox with three usb ports. I have a kinect, a wireless adaptor and a usb stick connected. I find each time i turn the console on one or more of the usb connections does not register. this seems to alternate each time i turn it on......
very frustrating since i have upgrades saved on the usb memory... What is going on??????/

 

Did you try doing a hard reset including unplugging the power cord from the back of the console? Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test for results.

 

Just retried it and no luck. I've also done a factory reset before that didn't work and then updated it again with same results. Should also mention that FFH and I are using Day One consoles and I know somebody else in the preview program that got a console
a year later that hasn't had any issues. This might be an issue for consoles that were released early on.

 

I'm in preview also using day one console and have always used the rear ports and no problems touch wood.

It would be best to post in preview forums there could be others with this issue

It appears as the USB driver is disabled in the boot sector (or like the bios in a PC). May have to do a offline reset where you need to get a good working copy of the operating system and start fresh.

If that Fails, it may look like you need to take it in for repair, where the techs look into the boot sector and enable the USB in the bios area.

I do wish we could access that. Solves a lot of boot issues.

 

I am still today having this problem got a new headset with a USB wireless adapter it will light up but won't power to have the headset connect to the Xbox. Try plugging in other USB pieces like cables charger nothing at all sent. Having this problem on
two different xboxs purchased at two different times and nothing at all I'm not paying to send both in to fix something that shouldn't have happened to begin with. It's ridiculous and annoyingly frustrating that there is still no at home fix for this.
