  1. USB ports dropping out. Randomly switches self on

HI. My son has an xbox series x which is only 3 mths old. Of recent the USB ports are randomly not working. He will have his head set, key board and mouse plugged in and randomly stops working, he unplugs one device and 2 of the USBs will work but then 1 will randomly stop and another will start. There seems to be no rhyme of reason to this. Also when turning the xbox off it won't fully power off, the light doesn't go out then it randomly turns itself on. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it from the power. This is also random. We have sent the device back to the shop it was purchased from but they can't find a problem, the only answer we get is that all devices aren't microsoft therefore they maybe drawing too much power and cutting one USB out... this sounds odd to me. Anyone able to offer suggestions, help, or are experiencing similar?

    :)

In regards to the console not powering down fully, be sure to check what power setting the console is set to, if the console is set to Instant On then the console will not shut down completely and is able to receive updates for the console itself and games when 'powered off' this could cause the console light going on again. See this link for more information about the power settings:

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today despite this Melissa

We can try some things to isolate the issue a bit more, please answer the following questions :

The console is connected directly to the power outlet?
May I know if you can test / connect the console in a different room to see if that makes the difference?
If you try connecting only one USB accessory, it works?

And, what did you tried so far to fix this problem? (Besides sending the console to the store)

is there a way to be able to keep using the old memory unit ....

There are third party USB to Memory Unit cradles out there. They only work with Corona model consoles (first generation 360 S), and only on the front two USB ports. Trinity consoles dropped original MU support via the front two USB ports.

Xbox Elite controller randomly disconnects despite being plugged into PC via cable.

I have tried plugging the controller into the USB 3.0 port as it was previously plugged into the USB 2.0 port. It still presents with some issues and the game randomly stops accepting inputs.
