Usb Port On My Xbox Series S Isn’t Working

Yesterday everything worked fine today my USB port on my console stopped working completely after connecting the controler with usb-c . I tried a lot of instructions and nothing works ... When connected controler by cable it only vibrates every 4sec.

Any advice on how to fix it ?

I’m having a similar problem on my S series. Media drive is suddenly not appearing in settings and no media available in player. The drive is working perfectly on my pc but isn’t reading on my Xbox. What’s weirder is that my media drive has a USB port on its front and if I insert a drive in there the Xbox will see that drive. So that means all connections and and wires are working it’s just not see my media drive.

Any help would be great.

No, sorry it won't work. The USB ports on the Series X|S are USB 3.1 which have a maximum speed of 500MB/s. This means, no matter what drive you buy, no matter what speed it's rated at, you're stuck at the max speed of the USB port.

The only drives that can be used for Series X|S games are either the internal or the storage expansion card.

I have the Expansion card for my Series X. I also have an external 2TB USB SSD in an enclosure. I can only use the external SSD for Xbox One games. They do load a lot faster than a mechanical hard drive, but I can't play my Series X games off it.

Sorry to hear you are having issues, are you able to provide more information please. Were the USB ports working before? What are you trying to connect? Do you see any error messages?

Hey! Sorry to hear that you're having problems with your Xbox one.

Is it every usb port that isn't working? It might be worth trying a different usb device if that is the case just to rule out it being an issue with the device rather than the port.

If no devices are working with any of the usb ports then i would try turning off your Xbox and unplugging everything for about 5 minutes before plugging back in and seeing if that has sorted out the issue you are having. I have previously sorted my own usb
port issues out this way.
