  1. USB Not being properly read by Xbox One

I wanted to record gameplay on my Xbox One. I am using a USB 3.0. I plugged it into the console. When i navigated to Broadcast & capture in Prefences (in Settings), I set the capture location to 'External'. An error message popped up reading:

First, format this device on your PC

To capture game clips and screenshots externally, storage must be formatted as NTFS. Connect it to your PC and format it, then reconnect it to your Xbox. (0x80bd003c)'

I have already formatted the device to NTFS and my USB is USB 3.0. I tried searching the error code on the website but there were no results.

The device has been formatted to NTFS and has actually worked before (But I had to reformat it for another purpose for a short time, so I don't know if that has affected anything. It shouldn't have done because the drive is now formatted to NTFS like I said and is 3.0) I have tried both the quick format and non-quick format options on PC when trying to format the USB, however this has had no effect on it. I also tried inserting it through a USB 3.0 Port with multiple slots to see if that would change anything. It hasn't. I would rather not purchase a new one, and before I get replies to help solve this problem I will try it with a different USB to see if that makes any difference. Any answers are appreciated. Just kind of annoying how it comes up with this error message when i have already done what is required.

    Thanks!

    :)

Hi, I'm and I can surely help you.

Don't worry we will work on this together. Can you please check if your Windows has an update? If there is, please update it then restart your PC and try it again. Thanks!

That crumbling sound you hear… that’s the sound of your rights eroding!

Eggnogga, I do want an Xbox One, if you read it properly you'll see that. And I never said I was being force.

Troubleshoot using flash drive to transfer files

Not all flash drives are created equal, however...

If the drive isn't being detected properly, try powering off the new 360. Remove the USB drive. Power up the new 360, re-insert the USB drive. See if the drive is now properly detected. There's been some issues with USB drives not being detected properly
    during warm-boots of the console.

As the discs will not be read properly whether the USB is plugged in or not, I don't believe that is the problem.

    USB drive concerns!

I think all USBs are constantly being read by the console. My Xbox reads mine and the light flashes and stays on.
