USB/Kinect ports turning on and off

Recently, probably the past weeks, my xbox has been acting funny. Upon turning the console on, my Kinect with say it's unplugged and within a few seconds will be connected again. Likewise for the USB port for my controller. Almost as if they occur at
the same time. I have a mix amp as well and it will receive no sound. It will continue doing this until a hard reset and all issues will be fixed until a soft reset is done, then it's back at it.

My girlfriend is having the same issue only when her Kinect says "unplugged" a message will pop up asking her to configure it, as if it's new.

Xbox One S adapter for the Kinect

I asked the same question on reading about the XBS. The thing does not have its own port for Kinect, uses one of only two back USB ports. The USB ports are not active so no turning on of the XBS by voice.

Yep, I have it set to power off the HD when console shuts off. When its in fast boot turned off the HD turns off with it. Its when I wanna fully shutdown the rear USB ports seem to keep supplying power which makes the HD And Xbox communicate and the xbox turns back on. The front USB port doesn't. I can fully shutdown with the front USB port.

 

Try a hard reset on the console by following these steps:

1) Turn off your console by holding down the power button or 30 seconds

2) Unplug all cords, leave console unplugged for 3-5 minutes

3) Plug cords in, turn on console, check for the Kinect

For the controller try this:

1) Take out the batteries and hold own the power button or 30 seconds

2) Put batteries back in.

See if that helps

If your Kinect is still having issues, you are going to want to restore the console to factory defaults.

 

I will try this tomorrow (or in like 12 hours, which is technically today; I just haven't slept yet). We also use micro usb cords and no batteries for the controllers.

Press console button 8 seconds unplug from mains

Unplug Kinect from console

Plug console back into mains power up go into settings choose Kinect

Plug Kinect into console wait for it to be recognized about 10 seconds then calibrate Kinect

 

GrowlingYapper, we tried that yesterday actually. It worked until another soft reset was done.

 

Unfortunately till now the only way to have this fixed is to replace the Kinect. Had that myself, too, and was advised by official staff to have it replaced. Now everything is fine again.
