USB Hubs and Xbox One

Hey just wondering if anyone is using a USB hub on their Xbox One? Does it work? Any problems?

My goal is to get a hub and attach it the USB port on the side of the console. I am going to be getting a wireless keyboard today and all 3 of my console's ports are already being used. So I am hoping I can add a USB hub to the console and get additional
ports for the keyboard and my MixAmp, and then eventually when I attach a 2nd external hard drive.

I am just curious if anyone has tried this and if it works before I go out and buy stuff.

One thing I want to add: Are you using a USB powered unit, or an AC powered unit?

USB 3 hub expansion for devices

There are some USB 3.0 Hubs for the Xbox One. You can use any USB 3.0 Hub that works on a computer for that matter.

An Xbox branded USB 3.0 Hub is the dreamGEAR Xbox One 3.0 USB Hub (although is not an Xbox nor Microsoft product).

If you want an attached-to-the-console 3.0 Hub; you can try the Collective Minds 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure & 3 Front USB 3.0 Ports Media HUB - Xbox One that also lets you put an Internal Hard Drive inside of it.

Both can be bought on Amazon.

 

Works fine for me, non powered one with a Keyboard, Skylanders Portal and Powered External Drive connected.

Make sure its a USB 3.0 hub and you'll be fine, also if you're NOT using powered external drives, id recommend a powered hub.

 

Yeah I am using a powered ExHDD, but I won't be connecting the HDDs to the hub. I will only be using my HUB for my keyboard, mixamp, and usb cable for my controller. I wasn't able to find a HUB today that I liked, it was only USB 2.0, but that shouldn't
matter for what I am using the hub for?

 

Nah. Should be fine for that with just 2.0
