Discus and support USB HDD Stopped Working after 12/2/2014 Update in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I've been using a WD USB3 3TB drive ever since MS finally decided to add USB HDD support.     USB HDD Stopped Working after 12/2/2014 Update


    I've been using a WD USB3 3TB drive ever since MS finally decided to add USB HDD support. After the update on 12/2/2014 I am unable to use the drive. It will not detect at all but a PC can see it perfectly fine. I'm about to actually wipe and format it on
    a PC just to make sure the drive doesn't have issues but I honestly don't think the drive itself is at fault. It seems like it may possibly be a problem with the USB HDD support in the update.

    I've tried everything. Hard reboot. Unplugging. Disabling HDD power saving features. Leaving disconnected while hard rebooting then plugging it in. Tried all USB ports (even on the side). Anything that someone would typically do to ensure that it isn't a
    connection issue I've tried. The problem seems to lie in the update that was recently pushed out. Any help?

    App to Microsoft Solitaire collection does not work

    Solitaire collection stopped working (i.e. opens with blue screen solitaire page, then closes) after I installed the following updates on 24 Dec 2015

    Update history

    Microsoft - Keyboard - Microsoft Hardware USB Keyboard

    Successfully installed on 24/12/2015

    Microsoft - Pointing Drawing - Microsoft Hardware USB Mouse

    Successfully installed on 24/12/2015

    Have tried a variety of things - un-install, re-install several times,

    - running diagnostic tool and sfc/scannow

    Even set up a new user name as a Microsoft account

    but NOTHING has worked

    Seems like the drive works on everything BUT the xbox one. I just attached it to a wiiu with no issues detecting. I attached it to a PC with no issues detecting. Broken update?

    The same thing has happened to me.

    I've also noticed the console doesn't want to start up or shut down with the external drive attached.

    Haven't found anything that seems to fix this post 12/2 update

    External Hard drive issues.

    If you have a PC or MAC it maybe worth it to get Minitool or Paragon disk tools (free) and then plug the USB 3.0 HDD on it. Run Minitool or Paragon and you should see the whole Xbox One partition as unallocated or other in filesystem. If so then more than
    likely the drive is fine.

    Depending your USB 3.0 HDD brand try to go and search for firmware updates on the USB 3.0 HDD.

    I would do a sector by sector backup of the USB 3.0 drive first to somewhere accessible on another HDD.

    Hopefully the USB 3.0 HDD has a firmware update so update it.

    Normally HDD firmware updates leave all data intact but there is risk.

    After all plug the USB 3.0 back on Xbone and see if it works.

    For me a backup is safer just in case.

    Xbox one Console suddenly not seeing External drives, even brand new backup console.

    Hi I am having the same issue after the latest update.

    I've tried a power cycle, and console reset with no luck.

    The USB HDD worked fine before and 100% NFTS USB 3.0

    What's going on?
