USB flash drive stopped working

Hello. I have an issue with my USB storage device

While playing Halo 4, using my storage device where I keep my profile and saved games on, I was suddenly kicked out of my game and signed off. When I tried to log back on, I noticed the 360 was no longer seeing my thumb drive as converted to 360 use. I
attempted to log in on another 2 different 360s, but they also did not recognize it. The thumb drive itself does not seem physically damaged, beyond being used for a couple of years.

I attempted to check it on my PC as well, and, well, this was the contents.

I do not know if this is how it's intended to look when viewed on a PC or not.

Now, I've used this storage device for a few years, it might just be dead. In this case, I have a replacement. Can I move these files to the new one in this condition? Would I do it before or after converting the replacement? Or should I try converting
my old one again? And if I do, would it erase my previous 360 content?

Any help would be appreciated.

Help, my console does not detect my usb flash drive anymore.

My console stopped recognizing the flash drive from one day to the other. The usb ports are all working and the console still detects other usb flash drives still not formatted. I tried putting it on the pc and it does detect the xbox formatted flash
drive. The usb is a 16Gb kingston data traveler 2.0. I already tried putting it after I started the console, what do I do? My console is the original model (fat) arcade version with 256mb internal storage device. The usb flash drive was formatted on the console.

sorry to say if the system does not see that card anymore your only option is to format it, to why it stopped working dunno maybe cause it is a SD card in a USB adapter you should just stick with flash drive/drives instead.

 

Sorry to hear it. Unfortunately once the device dies there is nothing you can do to get the saves back. I would recommend formatting the drive on your pc (it's not dead or the pc wouldn't read it) to prevent this in the future.

Also, seeing as your gamertag is Gold you should set up the Cloud for your game saves to prevent loss in the future as well.

 

To prevent it? I'm confused, after converting it on the 360, is there another step I should do to prevent it from un-converting? It has performed fine for years until just yesterday.

But nothing to do to bring these files from the first one to the new one? And re-converting the old one won't just have it work again? That's disappointing.
