USB Flash Drive Not Seen by Xbox One

Can someone help with possible solutions?

I have a SanDisk 2.0 64Gb USD flash drive that works with my desktop PC. I've put 4 videos on it to see if the preview Media Player will read them -- I'm in the middle of the quest. But I can't get my Xbox One to recognize the USB flash drive. I've tried
plugging it in when running. I've tried rebooting and restarting with the USB drive already in the rear socket. Media Player reports there is no device attached.

    1. How can I test it, get it to work?

    2. Is there a place in the Settings app that shows whether a USB device is connected? Where?

    Many thanks.

    :)

Please tell me this is a sick joke

You need a 16 gb USB flash drive. It MUST have sufficient read speed 15mb/s

"This initial install will require an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space. If using a USB flash drive it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use. A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance. "

  3. USB memory stick lost files after turning off my system

I would use a Xbox 360 Flash Drive from SanDisk.its a pre-configured Xbox 360 Flash Drive from SanDisk. This official Xbox 360 USB Flash Drive by SanDisk is pre-configured to work with the Xbox 360 console.

Is it USB 3.0? That could be a potential problem. Not 100% sure though, I'll see if I can dig up some information.

However, as this is an issue with the Preview update, you should be posting this in the preview forums, which you can find here:

    forums.xbox.com/xbox_early_access/update_preview/update_preview_forums/default.aspx

If it is a legitimate bug, it helps the team to have it reported to them so they can fix it for you. USB Flash Drive Not Seen by Xbox One :)

Xbox 360 downloading games and the cloud

Well you could get yourself a few 32GB USB flash drives. You can then use them to install a few games too. Bear in mind that you can only have 2 USB flash drives installed at any one time. More info on using USB flash drives for your Xbox 360 here

Having issues to download a purchased game

Hi PiddlingHawk482, for now you could use a USB flash drive, I would use a 16GB one, that way you can install the game to the usb and any saves can be saved on there too. Instructions on how to use a usb flash drive are here

    Downloaded game not working!

Hey there, that's true only for Xbox Original games. A game that was first released for Xbox 360 should behave itself on a USB. Have you tried an USB drives besides the one? You can check out the specifications here: Xbox
